Luckily I had the fortune of a friend who got this game and hated it, so I wouldnt have to spend my own cash on this piece of junk.
So anyways, my friend tells me how much he hates this game and so I ask "Can I have your account and CD? That way I can try it out. If I don't like it, I'll just give it back to you".
He seemed pretty cool with that and so I installed the game and enthusiastically booted up Guild Wars.
Firstly, I make my character. The graphics are ok, but they arent very detailed and they are kind of stiff. I start playing and the controls are unresponsive and stiff and the fighting is terrible. Not to mention, the whole world is instanced so it's not really "Massively multiplayer".
In about 5 minutes I discovered this game really was awful. Im so glad my friend lent me his account. I returned it to him and he is going to ebay it in like 5 days.
I'm so glad I didn't waste my $50 on this.

Bait? Maybe. Mainly it's cause some guy has posted in like 3 different accounts on the WoW forums about how he played WoW for an hour and it sucked.

2. Graphics? I said they were ok, despite they were still. Im talking about the controls and instancing.

So you didn't try any missions and not playing any Pvp? You can't judge a game when you only have played 5 minutes. If you play for a little longer and try missions and Pvp i'll listen to you, but right now you can't say if the game sucks or not.

The graphics are some of the best ever made in a RPG. High resolution textures, lots of polygons, many spirits and so on. I don't really see how you mean it's stiff. If the controls are unresponsive it might be your computer or your conn. The controls responds as fast as if it was an FPS.
Again, nobody from NCSoft has claimed it to be a MMORPG, so stop yelling about it. It's like saying Counter-strike sucks because it's not a RTS.
Fighting is pretty much like World Of Warcraft. I've played both. And I like both styles.

Fanboi, stop flaming guild wars, and get over to your own boards. We don't really give a rats tale on your opinion. I tired of all you fanbois comming to the guild wars boards and saying it sucks. If Guild Wars had scored like 6 points here, you wouldn't make any of this ridiculous stupid threads.

These boards are mainly for people who play guild wars and have a question, or somebody who needs help. We don't need to hear fanboi yelling about their opinion.

I haven't played Guild wars (thinking about trying it), but I did try WOW at the end of beta and didn't care for it. While I think this persons post shows his bias I don't think the forum here is just for players of guild wars as was suggested. I came here, for example, to read decenting opinions about it to see if i was willing to try the game.

That all being said I agree that the original posters comment about the WOW boards destroys any credibility to his opinion and that pointing that conflict is valid.

Actually I did try the missions and PVP. Both sucked.
And it wasnt an attempt to make people leave Guild Wars. We have a comfortable 2 million players on WoW. But thanks for your concern.

But in your OP you said you played for 5 minutes. There is no possible way you can do anything more than kill your first mob in 5 minutes, let alone PvP the Academy quest.
