    Same.

    I think ...

Don't really mind starting a few days later, been waiting for a long time anyway. And Skyrim is still reasonably entertaining and real life reasonably busy.

I have learned that EVERY MMO is awesome at launch, regaurdless of peoples nit picky objections, or strong reasons to hate a game, MMO's shine when there is an obsurd amount of people running around. I would suggest anyone to get it just because of that. But OMG I have been waiting for SWTOR for awhile now. Really excited, I can finally be myself in game (fat guy) .

I will be playing it, eventually, but this thread does sound a bit like a marketing shill.  (not that the game needs one)

But no, I'm not all that excited about it, just another MMORPG in the long run.

After playing the beta Im pretty much counting the days. I preordered back in August while still being a little skeptical and I'm glad to say that the beta completely sold me on it being a game that I would enjoy. Most of my old guildies are coming over from other games as well so I'd say Im pretty excited and looking forward to seeing what Swtor has to offer.

I am going to give it at least a month until after launch to buy, if I ever do. I am a big fan of the Star Wars IP but the first month of any MMO nowadays is such a bun fight that I dont have the drive to be a prt of it. Also, with Christmas coming up, and being a father, my focus is elsewhere.

I will be interested to see what people are saying after their first month is up ....

I feel like a mean swine complaining about the small things that bother me about TOR when there are so many other aspects of the game done so well. Still a few things niggling away about the dynamics of actual gameplay and the general structure of the game but I can't quite fully put my finger on any of them so I'll ignore them for now and dive headlong into pre-launch enthusiasm. I for one welcome our new time sink in a galaxy far far away!

I'm not going to pre-order at all. In fact I think logging in on the 20th is probably a bad idea. After seeing the queues during the last 2 beta weekends I think it's probably wiser to wait until a week or 10 days after launch before creating an account and starting to play.

This will allow time for server populations to even out, new servers to come online and queue times to drop. The idea of getting early access, levelling a character and then on the 20th finding myself in a 4 hour queue ... no thanks.

    Yeah, I'm ready.....I think.

I was originally going to wait until next month to start playing, but now I have a 5 day weekend for Christmans, so.......

I want a mmorpg where people have gone through misery, have gone through school stuff and actually have had sex even. -sagil

Too bad the launch is not sooner.  Hate that it's so close to Christmas, grrr have to go to the in-laws out of town.   So no playing for me during the holidays.

  • DKLondDKLond Member RarePosts: 2,273

I was actually quite excited about it until trying the beta.

Now, I doubt I'll last through the free month of my pre-order - but I've not given up on changing my mind quite yet.

I've been waiting for SWTOR since the announcement about bioware austin secretly developing an mmo just barely 6 years ago.

The only other mmo I've been truly excited about was swg. Both star wars games and Im not a big time star wars fan. Though I am slightly intrested in Secret World

Cloning myself several thousand times, as I don't have any friends, I agree with OP, SWTOR needs to be big, to encourage more developers to go cinematic and story based, I am sick of un-immersive 3rd person grinders.

I have become over the years an MMO launch addict.  I want to play at every launch of every MMO out there even if I disagree with the design they are just fun.  The question on how long they hold me is up in the air, and the average is probably 2 months, but man launches are just too fun to pass up.  Just think on all of these 100+ server or whatever ridiculous amount there are there will never be as many people in the first couple of areas as there will be at launch.  Sounds like a nightmare and I love it.

So asking others if they are excited about a game is now marketing shill? Wow...I guess being excited about something is impossible on this site since anyone that is, is obviously trying to covertly advertise...

Excited? I'm having withdrawal symptoms! I got the shakes, man, I got them bad.. I need my SWTOR fix.

(That'd be a yes in other words.)

Being excited about a launch of something you're looking forward to is a good thing. I'm waiting on launch and have to admit I've bought the full Star Wars Saga on BluRay to get in the mood image

However, it does start to drop into marketing shill territory when the post is not saying 'I'm Excited' but is in fact saying 'get everyone you know in the world to go out and buy this'........isn't that exactly what marketing is? image

Too excited ! its like a high of sorts youd get like the craving of cigarettes ! It wasnt so bad before I played the beta but noww.....gimmie gimmie gimmie !

Same like me, i love MMO launches, even fresh new server launches for games already out as it places everyone on the same level field more or less.

It also brings the community much closer and overall makes the game much more enjoyable. Things like the economy start to shape up, new areas, strats etc start to form and being tested out.

Going to be a good launch!

I pre-ordered July 21st, early access awaits, too bad ill be working overtime during the early access and wont have a huge amount of time to play - least it will be out and ill be able to play abit!

    Nope not even slightly.

I played the beta and was shocked that a company could produce yet another clone MMO.

People must have no imagination or something to be able to play games like this and WOW. Try something different FFS.

  • fenistilfenistil Member Posts: 3,005

Not really, Beta was a letdown.

Dialogues are nice BUT very simplified with always same 3 'mood' options :/

Apart of this game is preety bland. Sure lightsabers and SW has it's bright side, but world is very sterile and not exciting.

Another game that not build world, but will be isntance grinder after you finish your story :(

Well I was playing mmorpg's like this for a long time, but got bored eventually. Game reduced to quest rails + instance grind (and crafiig, exploring, housing and game conomy beign side-kicks or not existant) not really fit my cravings anymore.

Playing in the weekend testing, enjoyed it as a single player game, not something I think I'll be actually subscribing to play.

  • AkaisAkais Member UncommonPosts: 274

I'd already had the pre-order but my wife played the beta this past weekend and she went out and got one as well.

We're excited to be playing, but will have family over to visit as well so don't expect to really get play time until after the new year.

We love the fact that 'solo tough' content can be completed in small groups and that the game not only doesn't reward for rushing, but you are guaranteed to miss story doing it.

I don't like the Barrens Chat... This makes me appreciate the function of literally turning the chat box off.

Isn't it strange how much more relaxed and quieter your game experience is when you don't have a chat box blaring random obscenities and ridiculous inanities at you?

    Maybe it's just me...
