whatever itimization you obviously didnt play to far in the game during beta, character creation again whatever better than most games out there except maybe aion and maybe eq2.Side quests are so immersive easy? questing easy yet again you obviously didnt get to far into the game tantooine and narshada quests start gettin alot harder. UI yet AGAIN every mmo on the market pretty much uses the same ui come on now there only so much you can do to a ui or need for a ui a few boxes to put skills in wow come on now not to mention its a beta client only down fall is you cant move them yet again its their game they may have that intentionally learnt to adapt to newer games quit expecting WoW part 2. space combat yeah its  a bandaid and like 90% of the people i seen in beta so far actually enjoy oddly enough but eithetr way why its OPTIONAL yep optional. Other than that the game is catered toward biowares already made fan base and the starwar fan bases's if your not a fan of neither simply stay away from the game so the people who enjoy it dont have to listen to the qqers new game made their way not wow way or eq's way but biowares way learn to adapt.

Character Customization was by far the worst aspect of the game for me. This goes from races to visuals. Very very disapointed.

  • wheelercubwheelercub Member UncommonPosts: 10

    My biggest complaints are

    1. UI settings do not carry over to new characters. Specifically things like "show Bottom Middle Skillbar" and all Keyboard customized commands.

    2. The bodytypes during character creation are extremely limited to Emaciated, Normal, Super Tall Muscular, or Extremely Wide Muscular. They need at least 2 or 3 more options.

    3. Can't move the party member slots around. They are locked in the lower left corner.

If you play Jedi Knight and then Consular, 2/3rd of the startet planet quests are the same. Then ALL chars of the Republic come to Coruscant and make 80% of the same quests. All that makes replayability a scam, and that needs to be said. Daniel Erickson lied.

This is incorrect. The claim was that by playing both sides you'd never see repeat content, and I believe with the exception of some Flashpoints, this is true. If you play two different Republic classes you'll see mostly the same content (outside of your class quests), but if you play a Jedi Knight and then a Sith Warrior there won't be any real overlap.

Oh my gosh!!! A game where playing the opposing faction has you playing completely different quests!?? Someone get Guiness on the phone, this is unprecedented. I have never heard of another MMO where creating a character on an entirely different enemy faction put you in a situation where you would be able to experience all new content... well, wait... I mean except every single one ever made. *rolls eyes*

The UI was my biggest gripe. It was hard to tell if something was an upgrade to an item modification or a companion. For example, if a quest reward for a weapon for the Khem Val companion, hovering over the item automatically compared it to my equipped item and in order to compare it to Khem Val I had to open and wade through several screens. Similarly, if a quest offered an item modification like a color crystal you had to open the character sheet and then the modification sheet which caused the quest reward screen to close.

Also, I'm sad no Togruta but I would think they are high on the list to add in a future expansion.

My only real gripe about SWTOR is

So here we are another stress test with weekend testers. I really had hoped with the server maintenance downtime they had used that to install some additional infrastructure to their server architecture based off past results. Instead it appears they have taken about a 2 mile leap backwards rather than a couple steps forward which one would certainly hope for since we're at release candidate status build wise.

Estimated wait times when I thought I might return to my main and try to finish off the last bit of Chapter 1:

    Darth Malak 2days 18hrs 39min

    Holocron of Adas 22hrs 30min

    Shawken Spire 20hrs 10min

    Moomo Brothers 1day 22hrs 55min

    Leviathan 4hrs 59 min

    Cosmic Turbine 4hrs 39min

Are you $hitting me?!  The NDA is off, Bioware should know better than this...

  • kaliniskalinis Member Posts: 1,428

u realize there wait times were way off last weekend. i had one say 5 hrs i got in in less then 10 mins. One told me 24 hrs i got in in 25 mins

Really give the que a chance before u vent

Yeah!!! BioWare should know better than to stress test in a beta!

Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
    Through passion, I gain strength.
    Through strength, I gain power.
    Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.
    The Force shall free me.

Agree with everything said especially not being able to move the windows. Many of the issues raised above are real disappointments.

But I am still buying it because I enjoyed it. Even the Barrens type chat which occasionally reared it's ugly head didn't put me off. Strange really because I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did.

I think the players unit frames looks a bit weird...

    Thats all.

i have done only a few things so far in the game. tryed to test as much differentiations as i could. I am no PvP player, so that aspect i can't judge about. The overall feeling is that some things could have been done better but that the game itself is great.

I'm mostly looking for a fun to play game and so far i had really a fun time. I normally play a lot solo and this game is no exception for me. However, i have played in one of those flashy point thingies and i really loved it. (esseles) I have done a few times in other games with other players, but never before i had the idea of bieng able to do something usefull. (i'm a bad button basher - so no pvp for me)

for me this game is right on the spot and gives me a great star wars look and feel. No auto attack? great! no macros? even better! no mods? probably also great. (but not to offend the moddeers since they can do some really great things to improve games) I just hate to fight with macro-enabled things. (i played eve-online and macro (mining) people just destroy every part of fun)

    improvements that i would like:

    • sizeable IU to make things smaller or bigger.

    • sizable fonts to make them smaller above people's heads.

    • more character customisation (appearance)

    • able to mark locations on the maps (perhaps with notes.)

    • a little better graphics on the companion attacks. The companion droid just hyperjumps into the target and stays sticky inside the target. it should not move like that and it should keep some distance from the target.

perhaps some of these functions already exsist, i had not enough time to check and exercise all kind of things. but so far it was quite a lot of fun :)

i certainly will not hope that people only play for 4 months and then dissapear because there is a lack of content. (like in conan)

for PvP improvements: read all the other items about pvp. I'm not able to comment on that.

    My 2 cents,

I liked the Star Wars atmosphere and the graphics were just cool.

The game is too easy, companions are op, UI is korean.

But the thing that really got on my nerves on beta was the stupid dialogs, never liked the space bar so much. At each NPC i just went on press space,space,1,space,1, repeat.

About this list, dont really care about any of those 5 choices, the UI should be a lot better, maybe in time.

i think many of you are expecting too much from the beginning swg was not  what it is now(some may even say it was better  but oh  well :P) give the game a breake and some time im sure if the game gets a big fanbase bioware will listen to this kind of things pretty fast...but  its all about mony so until the games shows a decent profit pbly just gonna stay  as is it now

i only may complaint about item customisation...i dont really think is too hard put something similar to rift...but o well what i know...and also even rif took it  like half year to  put  the  customisation tab

  • WewaWewa Member UncommonPosts: 19

Compared to SWG - SWTOR is poor in options.

I will just mention one point here noted: Space:

    1. space sectores :in SWG you had 13 space sectors each divided in 4 quadrants, in each quadrant you had few or more types of diferent level opponents with diferent loot. In some sectors you could find marvels you would die to see in real life, nebulas, space debris, wreckage ships...

    2. Space stations. on most of the space station you could tak emissions and on one you could even walk and have lot of fun and interesting serioes of quests. Not to mention that role playing on Nova station was awesome expirience.

    3. Visual details. For each space ship there was at least 3 or more diferent types of customization kits so that your spaceship is visualy diferent from other players

    4. Amount of spaceships: by my last count there was over 30 single seater spaceships, 15 multi player ships (Players On Board)

    5. Starship systems customization: You could loot or craft diferent types of starship system components for:

    1. shields

    2. weapons

    3. armor

    4. capacitor

    5. engines

    6. tractor beam

    7. onboard computers or droids

    8. cargo hold

I did not listed all adventages here that SWG had over this SWTOR minigame like space mining, space PvE and PvP, raids on ISD or Rebel space station and huge space battles where you fight against actual players, not bots :)

So when I saw this mini game for my 4 years old nephew I know this game is just an extension to cartoon network clone wars series, yes story is nice but this is not Star Wars I just to play.

I think this is the only "list of things I don't like" that I can actually agree with.  Well done.
