    Good vid once again Pokket.

One thing I did note through my testing was the Repub seems to have better starting companions than the Empire.  I thought of this when you were discussing 4 person heroics, and how companions were not a vialble fill in for live players.  I found that I could do 4 person heroics with my wife and her companion and my companion on the Repub side, but not on the Empire side.  Just an observation, keep up the good work.

@the Rest of the posters...really..Pokkets hair?  that is what you took from this vid?  Shame.

If you want a new idea, go read an old book.

In order to be insulted, I must first value your opinion.

She can't be all that old, she reminds me of my daughter. Not because of the blue hair (which my daughter had for a bit last year) but other stuff. I keep expecting her to say, "Pew pew pew pew!" at some point. All of which makes me feel pretty old. *sigh*

Anyway, I had 0 issues getting groups together for anything in the game. There was an abundance of players every time I was on. Of course, I am a 'prime time' player, so I'm usually on when most everyone else on the planet is playing whatever game I'm playing too. It took a couple minutes at most to have a group ready to go.

Concerning the combat animations, my Jedi would block incoming blaster fire with her light saber which was really cool. I could really care less about identifying other players by their combat animations if my avatar is doing cool stuff with a light saber. Which leads me to...

I'm still waiting for "running around with a light saber" as a reason for playing the game. #3 maybe? Eh? Eh?

I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.

This is strange. Most videos I saw animations weren't really that smooth. Character movement feels a little stiff. But a lot of people say they are very smooth after playing the beta. So I don't know anymore.

Good job. Damn sight more informative than 99% of the other online reviews I seem to see these days and delivered with a bit of life and humour versus the usual pre-pubescent monotone that could put a meth addict to sleep (I'm looking at you MMOHUT.com!).

Thing is I never noticed this "bad animation" that people complained about in the videos, they looked like most other MMO's and in some cases smoother.

When I got into beta I found my above opinion confirmed (for me) for the most part. As I only had two issues when it came to the animations. The first was with the agent and smuggler's cover mechanic it seemed like it could use a good amount of polish as it didn't flow well in situations that were fast pace requiring you to enter and break cover often like in Flashpoints, PvP and Operations. However in situations where I could take my time like open PvE and instances it felt rather smooth. I think this is something that will just take getting use to as the work on polishing it... it's not gears of war after all. ;-p

The second an to me most annoying issue was your inability to holster weapons right after combat. If you just got out of combat the only way to holster your weapon/s was to stop moving for half a second. After which you can draw and holster your weapons while running, jumping etc. It kinda felt like FFXIV but no where near as bad (even after their patch FFXIV sheathing while running is painful to look at) and appears to be more of a combat animation bug that will be addressed.

Outside of this two issues I never once had a moment when the animations bothered me and actually found myself enjoying them especially with the Tropper and Bounty Hunter.

In the end though all that maters to me is if I like it and if someone says they don't like the animations yet I do well guess whose opinion matters the most to me in that situation. ;-)

They are extremely smooth and fluid.   It's oen of the best things about the combat in this game.  But videos don't do them justice.  Most of the videos of combat in this game don't look that great.  It's entirely different when you play it first-hand, though.

Thanks for the video.... Would like to see what makes the game feel like your in the Star Wars universe other then combat.  You also showed your older then you look by singing Final Countdown at the end. :)

When playing and leveling up I felt the combat animations were smooth. I may have felt a hiccup here and there, but I think the main problem people have is that there is no auto-attack. Your "1" ability essentially is your "auto-attack" without being "auto". Sure there are some abilities that need a bit of polish, but it's a brand new game and that would be WAY nitpicky if I were to be hyper-critical and sweat the small stuff that I barely notice anyway XD

On a different note, I also state that they are distinguishable, which is very important for PvP. Smooth combat animations are fun, distinguishable animations are basically essential.

Actually yes. Combat animations are very smooth. I have played enough MMOS to tell the difference between a clunky and smooth / responsive one.

How many servers SWTOR will launch with on release?

ShredderSE - Umm how many do they need? Maybe 6.
US, EU, Asian, France, German and Russian.
Subs will be so low there is no need for more
    Snoocky-How many servers?
The first 3 months a lot...after that 2 i guess, one for PVE and 1 for PVP...

Thorbrand - SWTOR doesn't have longevity at all. Might be one of the shortest lived MMOs.

At 1st in beta I couldnt figue out why my animations were clunky too. I attempted to adjust the video settings of the game, but was still getting 25 fps max. Finally after almost giving up i went into the Nvidia control panel and found out 3/4 of the card graphics settings werent enabled! After enabling them I went from 25fps to 125fps. At lowest 55 in pvp. So anyone having trouble make sure to check your Nividia cards to make sure especially on newer cards that settigns are enabled!

I loved the combat animations. U know this is a vidoe of the reasons she is gonna play tor and what she likes about tor.

That means if u hate tor u arent gonna agree with her. I dont understand why if someone thinks animations are smooth another says no they arent u are lying nice joke . I hate that kinda crap

The combat animations on the 3 computers i played all were very smooth and well done. I especially liked when my lightsaber woudl bliock a blaster bolt .

They are kinda robotic (check hips) and frankenstein-monster-ish. But this game does not go for realism and uses cartoony design anyway. They probably axed more realistic and fluid animation so that they could do more voiceovers. Eh.
