Information about the next TC patch, direct from Henrik.  

 

Towers have never meant to be structures like houses and keeps, hence will never have similar HP, after all its a small scout tower to track land



However, we are doing a patch right now that will balance the following.



Towers now have a rebuilt defense system that should work more as intended which means: The higher defense is the more damage it absorbs, with enough high defense ONLY the heaviest blunt damage will do 1-2 damage to a tower. Swords etc cant get in this blunt range and will therefore not do any damage on towers when they have enough defense. Defense now also severly damages your weapons when you hit on them IF they have high defense, so it costs you some resources to take down a tower with hammers only. They key here is not the HP differences, sure a tier 3 with 6k hp do slow down things a lot compared to tier 1, 2k hp. Again defense and offense is the key on towers, and of course you will always have to care your towers if you want to be real safe keeping them. This means, if a city is not happy with their new owners holding the city and perhaps dismissing guards, they can try to team up and remove that tower to "release" the city from its current owners. No need to siege this tower, even though a boulder would smash the tower really fast.



So far no tower in Nave have been upgraded to max defense hence they have all been weak targets. Now this patch also corrects some bugs regarding linking and radius issues, so it should be easier to start building and feeding the towers/keep correctly with CP.



Also a reminder, defense works on keeps as well, with similar attributes and bonuses like the towers gets.



So to conclude, defense doesnt work just like it should in this current build it is a bit off in balance, but should do in the patch that comes shortly.



Again when this patch is live, we appreciate feedback, so we are sure that we get the result on towers we been aiming for.

Towers are both short term and long term goals and requires attention, keeps however is only long term, and its hard to miss a keep siege if you are somewhat active in the game. Towers however can be secretly taken down if planned correclty or if the tower is not being under attention or have enough upgrades. However it should always be an "easy" target vs boulders or similar caliber. Ninja a fully upgraded tower with melee weapon only however is not very easy, and with some attention on the towers this shoudlnt go totaly unnoticed.



BTW I must thank for the entertainning fight between FEAR and WSX outside Morin Khur I think it was 2 days ago? I accidently ran right into that interesting tower war

    Was there any particular reason you did not link the thread this was in??  Was it maybe due to people talking about how bugged towers are?  Or maybe how bad the system is?  Or maybe Aphilas the focus group leader admitting his guild did not buy towers because from his testing he new they were buggrd but SV let the patch go anyways.
