To conclude. I'll post a bunch of canon pictures depicting Sith wielding lightsabers other than red and Jedi wielding red lightsabers.
Luke Skywalker also has been mentioned to dual wield lightsabers with a short red lightsaber being his off hand. Restricting colors to alignment is silly.
Those pictures would be relevant, except for the fact that they are from a completely different time period in Star Wars history. Not to mention a few of those "red" sabers are actually orange.
How so? Those pictures range from Exar Kun (before TOR), to the clone wars with Adi Gallia (after TOR) and beyond with Luke, Leia, Mara Jade and Palpatine (New Republic Era). There was also a planet full of Jedi wielding red lightsabers before the planet exploded to a super nova. There are also plenty of Dark-side Jedi known to wield blue as well as red.
The only picture which is slightly applicable is the Exar Kun one, however, it is still not from the exact time period in which this game takes place. The majority of the other pictures are still of orange sabers.
I don't like this idea. A Sith should be able to wield red LS and a Jedi blue or green no matter his alignment. Also, since alignment points can never be "remedied" I can't imagine how most Jedi and Sith will NOT fall under this issue over time? I mean, how can you avoid getting at least SOME points of Dark or Light side, if you play long enough? So in the end, we all are stopped using the most iconic LS colours! Thats just ridiculous. OR you remain confined to light or dark answers all the time, and freedom to answer as yo feel is tampered.
So not cool.

The exception proves (tests) the rule, always. Over the course of 20,000+ years, there's bound to be some Sith and Jedi who use the 'wrong' colored lightsabers. It doesn't change the fact that when it comes to lightsabers, colors are all about identification, similar to how just wielding one of them marks a person as belonging to one of the orders.
The funny post about Malgus' cohorts wielding off-colored sabers is also interesting from another perspective. Beyond ruining the nicely-shot tableau, Malgus probably wouldn't have brought anybody not wielding a red saber and, thus, identifying fully with the ways of the Sith. How could he trust someone who might be soft-hearted about ambushing and murdering all those unprepared Jedi? In fact, in that whole scene there's not one misplaced blade color among the attackers or defenders.
Finally, I think the real reason for the whole saber rationale comes down to this: it provides an instant peek into the character that wields it. Recall Attack of the Clones and how all the ambiguity about Dooku and his role gets dispelled at the end. It's not resolved by a long speech about the merits of the dark and light side, or a treatise on passion versus serenity. He makes clear who he is at heart simply by taking out his lightsaber and turning it on. In that moment, you know exactly what he has become by the color of his blade.

It is a stigma, but there is no rules to bar it. Especially since Light Side Sith are forced to not use red and Dark Side Jedi are forced to not use blue or green.

C'mon, you are going a little heavy on the hyperbole, aren't you? First of all, you don't lose access to those colors until you hit 1000 light side/dark side points (Tier 1). So you have to be making a conscious decision for quite some time to go down the other path before it even affects you. So you have plenty of freedom to answer how you feel without having to worry about suddenly going the wrong way. You make it sound like you need to be careful every single step of the way. That's simply not true. Making a decision to go against your nature (dark for jedi classes, light for sith) is not some quick decision. It takes time, and it takes commitment. And they specifically make it a big commitment, as it should be. If you are going to be a light side Sith, or a dark side Jedi, there are consequences to pay for doing so, but those consequences don't happen immediately, and you have plenty of time to remedy them before you "switch over."
And for the record, I'm of the opinion that I'd like to see Bioware break from canon in this instance and allow any side to use any color, and have a wide variety of colors to choose from, because I happen to like having that kind of freedom to customize the look of my character. But at the same time, I understand why they do it this way, and people should expect to pay some consequences for decisions that don't happen overnight...they take some time and effort to accumulate.

She originally chose an unusual color lightsaber crystal to power her blade, a red stone that had strong association with the Dark Lords of the Sith
Not from the same time period.
Therefore using it in an argument in favor of red sabers in this game (and time period) is useless.
I never said she didn't use a red one, I stated that it appears orange in the pictures (all except one).
On the other hand, If you scrolled down on the wookieepedia page you would find several pictures of her using a blue saber.
Additionally you would find this statement following the one you posted.
"Following the return of the Sith and the rising tensions in the Galactic Senate, Master Gallia replaced the red crystal in her saber's hilt with a traditional blue crystal, one associated with the Jedi Guardians."
Why not consider or post that? Oh right, it doesn't support your argument.

Of course you can raise or lower your Light/Dark Alignment. Even at 50th level. What is to stop someone farming Flashpoints to gain Dark or Light points? Beat up your compansions to gain Dark points., etc.

Hate to break it to you, but you're wrong.
I don't think anyone bothered to take screenshots of the tooltip, because I don't think anyone expected it would be so fiercely denied.
There ARE light/dark side restrictions to certain crystals (red and blue being some of them). It clearly states "dark side only" for red and "light side only" for blue. It's on the bottom, and displays in red if you are on the wrong side of the force. However, in beta I know you could have the wrong color crystal equipped, and it would still 'display' but you would lose all benefits of that weapon. I tested this both dark-> light and light->dark. It's a bug, nothing more.
I prefer to be free to chose the colour of my LS, thank you very much.
Well that's fine, but let's not act like it doesn't take a great deal of work to lose the ability to use those color crystals. Your first post made it seem like you had to ALWAYS choose light or dark side points, and that simply isn't true. Which is why I accused you of hyperbole in the first place.
It is a stigma, but there is no rules to bar it. Especially since Light Side Sith are forced to not use red and Dark Side Jedi are forced to not use blue or green.
I'm not sure we're disagreeing. I suppose the main point I want to make is that it's a matter of identification. It's not that a Dark Jedi can't wield a blue/green lightsaber, it's that they wouldn't. When a force user rejects the Jedi/Sith code, it's a conscious decision, one that is consistently marked by plunking in a crystal more befitting of his new allegiance. Is it restrictive? Yes. Does it make sense? I think so.
Do I like it? Yes. It does give more weight to choosing to go down the opposite path for your chosen archetype and I like the idea of being able to pick out some of the lightsiders from the darksiders at a glance. I suspect, though, that all the clamor will eventually render this moot and lightsaber colors will be untethered from alignment .
Therefore using it in an argument in favor of red sabers in this game (and time period) is useless.

I am not mincing my words, I am stating the facts.
The individuals you are using as "evidence" are not from the same time period and were not subject to the same traditions and strict cultural norms as mentioned a few pages ago with reference to why Sith initially used and continue to use red lightsabers when this game takes place. (vice versa for Jedi)
Is it possible for a Sith to use a non-red saber? Sure
Do they? No
Is it possible for a Jedi to kill children? Sure
Do they? No
Why? Tradition, Culture, Norms, Etc.
The restricted use of saber color by Bioware is justified by the tradition of the period, among other things.
Posting evidence of individuals which are not part of that period, whom occasionally use other saber colors, are not justifications for why you should be able to weild whatever color saber you would like without any possible consequence, whether cultural or non-cultural, during the period of the Cold War in which the game takes place.
Ya know, they should add a feature where faction change is possible for force users since so much hangs in the balance of light and dark.. If someone really dedicates themselves to being a dark jedi then they should eventually just get the title of Sith and same for a Sith who gives gifts and food to homeless jedi, just make them jedi..
But I guess with all the storytelling in place that this wouldn't be much possible unless major changes were made.. But I think as long as they have the light/dark system in place that it SHOULD mean something and actually play a decent role in the game, if not, why even bother?

Not sure where you say that I'm wrong? I'm asking for lore evidence why this game mechanic exists, since it is silly.
Also, I've heard people have had color crystals of the wrong color if the crystal comes with the lightsaber. After it's unequipped, you cannot equip it again.
There is also the way of NOT putting a crystal in to get the default color. But at high levels. Who really wants to gimp their stats as a work around?
Im going to be on the forums every day battling for restrictions to stay and trolling threads that want them removed. I work 12 hour shifts 3 to 4 days a week and u can bet ill be on the forum the whole time.

I know this is off-topic but with the mirrored classes being in place, I can totally see this happening down the road. I haven't played any character to high levels but what's to stop Bioware from rolling out new story content that is less class-based and more faction-based for the 50+ game? If anything, the possibility of being a fallen jedi who converts wholly to the Sith or a 'redeemed' bounty hunter who now hunts members of the Empire would make for a compelling future direction. Lotta hurdles that way, of course. Lotta hurdles.
...the defining feature of Sith lightsabers was the use of Synthetic lightsaber crystals, as opposed to the Adegan and Ilumcrystals favored by the Jedi. Almost all synthetic crystals used by the Sith featured a red coloration, as a result of the forging process used to create them, though adjustments to this process and manipulations through the Force did result in crystals of different colors...
The red coloration was also a result of the forging process, though it too came to become a tradition. The aggressive crimson hue served to differentiate the Sith from their sworn enemies; the Jedi, who typically utilized softer colors, commonly blue or green...
Here is the lore from page 9 for reference + some more from the article, if anyone else figures they can justify the use of red sabers by irrelevant outlyers in the lore.
Originally, Sith Lords utilized synthetic crystals due to their lack of access to the traditional sites where crystals were harvested, as these were frequented by the Jedi Order. Eventually, the use of these synth-crystals became a tradition amongst the Sith, who believed the creation of a crystal suited to one's own needs was a display of strength over the Jedi, who relied on the "untamed wilds of space" to provide.
The red coloration was also a result of the forging process, though it too came to become a tradition. The aggressive crimson hue served to differentiate the Sith from their sworn enemies; the Jedi, who typically utilized softer colors, commonly blue or green. However, the bloodshine blades were not universal to all Sith, with notables such as Exar Kun and Darth Vader continuing to favor their blue Jedi lightsabers after defecting. However, Kun was likely unaware of the custom, and Vader replaced his Jedi weapon with a red-bladed Sith saber soon afterwards. Ultimately, Sith who wielded colors other than red were usually looking to disguise their dark affiliations. In fact, Palpatine was of the opinion that the Sith Lords had outgrown the use of lightsabers, and only continued to use them to humiliate the Jedi.
