A long time ago I said that Jedi would outnumber Sith due to the fact this is a "blue" game (like DAoC was with Albion zergs).
I was wrong.
The definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.

Where did you get that information from? I've been looking for something that gives me the breakout for each server.
your graphs have won my affection.

stands to reason. More people want to be Vader rather then Luke kissing his sister.

I don't hate much, but I hate Apple© with a passion. If Steve Jobs was alive, I would punch him in the face.
you wouldn't ? Pffttt...

"The darkside is a pathway to many abilities..."
Not surprised at all by those numbers (if true).
I expected it, actually.
For guilds who pre-registered yes that appears to be the case. However that really doesn't say anything about post-release numbers or trends which actually matter.
I guess the cat's out of the bag so you might as well know officially that the Sith have been planning this for 6 years.
Although strangely enough, people from Kentucky favored Luke to Vader 3 to 1. Not sure why that is.
I kid, Kentuckians, I kid.
Well of course they outnumber. Wouldn't the average dude living in his mom's basement frothing with infinite entitlementist rage for the world rather play a Sith than a Jedi?
I kid, I kid. But seriously. I really regret that my buddy talked me into Empire now. But I didn't think I'd ever think I'd be glad that our guild decided to roll on a PVE server though. O_o Jeez.
*probably rolls republic on rp-pvp*
Well it is pretty cool that they are giving us means to measure faction balance. You don't see that often with games before launch. I hope many will reconsider faction and roll with the underdog. I will, personally: Shorter queue's, more cannon fodder out in the open world and more prestige to each and every world pvp victory.
Yes, you might be ganked a little more often but that only makes you stronger ;-)
My brand new bloggity blog.
I would be the guy destroying planets and choking the crap out of everybody that let me down.

Most people i think expected everyone to roll a Jedi and like myself, expected a huge skew towards Republic.
Ironically, this has caused the opposite. Not only that, i have heard the Republic storylines border on the fluffy side.
On my server Port Nowhere Population - Republic - 16 guilds:969 members Imperial - 34 guilds:2475 members
It is a PVP US East server. I have a feeling pure PVP servers will be even more leaning towards the empire.
Thats a ratio of 2.5 : 1, quick ques for me I guess
See, I'm on a PvP server. It cuts both ways. Yes, it will be nice to not have to wait in queues for the war zones. But it's going to suck getting gang-raped by 25 imperials every time I'm out on my own questing. I feel like I'm going to need to take an army with me just to get anything done.
So she'd be your daughter and you'd make out with her... I see... Zaaaammm Pooowwwww

I saw it coming in beta. It was really no surprise.
How many servers SWTOR will launch with on release?
ShredderSE - Umm how many do they need? Maybe 6.
US, EU, Asian, France, German and Russian.
Subs will be so low there is no need for more
Snoocky-How many servers?
The first 3 months a lot...after that 2 i guess, one for PVE and 1 for PVP...
Thorbrand - SWTOR doesn't have longevity at all. Might be one of the shortest lived MMOs.
One must keep in mind that on a pvp server he who complains the most gets the server merge?
MAGA
I know i had expected that. With hind sight i would have rolled republic with those numbers but it would be a bit of a pain in the bum to change it up now with the guild placement thing and allies/enemies.
Kind of expected this, as many of us did. Looking back at how Horde is now for WoW and how Chaos was for Warhammer, its somewhat of a given that sith would be more popular. Personally, I was to go Republic and play me some Trooper but my RL friends are all foing Empire so i'll be tagging along QQ
Expect it I did not, clouded by the dark side I have been.
But in retrospect it does make sense, the jedi story has been told again and again in games books comics and whatnot. But the sith are relatively untapped. And it probably helps that most imperial classes are cooler than their republic counterparts as well.
I mean, who would you rather be, Boba Fett or some random storm trooper?
IT's based on guilds only and there is plenty of people who do not bother with pte-release guilds at all, still it does show a trend, and it makes me happy. RP servers look Republic favored, which means i can be EMpire and underdog same time. Win-Win situation.
I expect PvE servers to be Republic skewed still to be fair. I'm basing this from previous MMO's, the PvPers always went with the baddies for obvious reasons. The PvE people go goodie to play out the adventure. RP servers will be fantastically Jedi skewed, i cannot see past that.
