Lag misery in RYL

I'm experiencing incredible lag (or extreme loss of FPS) in-game.  Pauses in gameplay for up to a minute or so (people are here and then magically there, I'M here and then magically there), delayed actions and controls (think menu mouse lag, but with the keyboard, keys take a few seconds to registerimage).  This is with all possible setting combinations tried to no avail. The character select/creation menu works flawlessly however, fluid.  It's when I'm actually playing that I experience these problems...although if i can manage to move away from the mass populace of PC shops, and people running about, the game is playable and responsive for a few minutes, till someone comes by and wipes out everything killable in a rather large radius.  I think i've managed to slay 4 or 5 potentially harmful and rabid rats or whatever is the newbie mob you start near. 

I experienced the identical problems with the trial version, and the retail fiddy dolla boxed one.  I don't have a good PC by todays nextgen standards (a Dell 2400 2.2ghz celeronimage, with 512 mb ram, and a Geforce 5200 128mb card...i know i need a new PC but it's outta the question for now image)  Games like Guild Wars, WoW, WW2OL, L2, HL2, Warhammer4k DoW, Rome Total War, work dayum near flawlessly at medium to high settings on my PC though.  But maybe i'm just not able to deal with RYL or something.  Does anyone else suffer from something like this?  In Trial and Retail?  I really want to try this game out without it being set so ugly that even wolfenstein 3d (the 1st one) is better eye candy (exaggerated just a tad).  Any advice is greatly appreciated image, and hopefully this'll clear up some problems myself and other people out there are having with RYL.

Also let me add, i'm not the primary comp on my network.  It's a wireless home network. I don't know anything about firewalls, ports/forwarding, TCP/UDP (or whatever it is), etc.  Some downloading programs, and other connection based programs say it's TCP/UDP test doesn't work, and that i'll be on a slower connection then if it had worked. I'm not PC illiterate and i have fiddled with a few in my day, so if anyone knows anything about if this is a possible connection problem and if fixing it could make games run better online, please let me know image.  Thanks.

    I feel your pain brother.. It was worst before... do you know that.. well again im playing RYL. Why? well what the heck I already have a level 65 warrior in there.. but now since its been P2P lags are not that heavy anymore... I think the developers are trying to solve this problem. (I think!) Well problems are not that present anymore when I bought thier game on Walmart (well it is sale) I got a month free of game, and has a survey answering it will give you another week free to play the game

    i feel the empathy here ::::16::....thats my only problem on RYL pote...though its really a good game...but like what wind angel says...i heard a rumor that developers are fixing this problem...well they have to, coz tourney will start tomorrow and im sure they dont want players that wants to join the tournment to feel disappointed...

    Built a new rig...i can run BF2 and EQ2 honestly flawless now at FULL settings...i have no idea why RYL is STILL giving me the exact same lag problems....jeeze chroist...image...Is any server more stable than others?  Ive been trying to play on Azreal or whatever it's called...i really want to get into this game, and not be smacked in the face instantly with the worst lag since playing MMOGs on a 56k. image

    Well It runs smoothly on my PC 512mb pentuim 4 is not bad. I dont have any problem at all. My experience of lag is when im hacking a wolf it doesnt attack back and no damage points appearing on the screen. but it was only for i think 10 sec then thats it. I dont have any lags anymore. Thats all

    like u blayze i'm also planning to switch on Azreal server...i always lag on iveria server....and people there are some kinda weird...while they say people on Azreal are cool and very generous..they help new players and invite to join their party to level up fast...

    P2P is good but i need free games :D

    so am i...im also planning to switch on Azreal server...i've been on Iveria since i started playing RYL....its time for me try new things on Azreal...hope players there are hospitable ::::02::

    Im still enjoying at server iveria, maybe i will switch at azreal server when the a******s really bugging me.. but for now hmm.. i'll stay.

    Hmmm, I must agree that Iveria has lags & bugs sometimes but still I like that server even there's a lot of morons.. lol.. But same here, I'm planning to switch also at Azreal server as soon as possible cuz I've heard lots of people are going to switch to azreal...lol

    Hmm....i don't know what's up then?  Maybe my network settings aren't set up right or something.  My lag experience has been very unresponsive controls, people "lag-jumping" (or you see them in front of you then suddenly they are like 10 feet away).  When im on the Character creation screen everything runs perfectly with no noticeable faults.  Logs in quickly, patches quickly, but once in-game everything hits the fan hehe.  I'm gonna fiddle with some of my settings and i'll let you guys know if I figure out a resolution to this.  Thanks everyone for their insight and help.
