with this great Staggering headstart approach that bioware has taken. i can't help but to think of the similarties with the Titanic ship.
we have the elite wealthy ones on first class,, first class always has best services, and life boats at their disposal. they are the few ones who preordered the game around july, and currently the only ones getting any mails. therefore they get to pick the best names for their characters, and select any server they like. they are also the only ones playing as well.
2d class passengers, will be the ones who supposedly will follow the first wave of invites, with luck they will get 3 days at least, the bad news is, that by the time they get to login, the names they wanted for their characters most likely will be all taken already, and most servers will be iether high medium to full.
3rd class passengers. they form the hard working classes, the ones who need to share a crowded and poor cabin with 3 other families, bad quality services, and in the hypothetical case the ship sinks, they will go down with the ship. they form all the people who always waits a little before rushing to preorder , including myself.
so how would a preorder for a game compares with the titanic, considering everyone paid the extra 5 bucks to get access to the headstart regardless of the date they decided to do so?
do you think is fair to base who gets 5 days and who don't only based on the date they preorder?
personally i think this has been a terrible idea, and in all the years of playing mmo, i've never seen anything like it. yes i think everyone with a preorder should have had access the very same day. most of the servers are running on low and very few on medium right now, so that shows, they could have easily been able to handle way more people in their servers.
many of us won't get an email till the 20th, right when release date officially begins. so yes don't even waste your time checking your email box every 5 minutes, that email won't arrive anytime soon. you won't get 5 days headstart, and by the time you get to play, you will have to get used to the idea, of having to come up with a new name for your character, or perhaps a new server, if the one you wanted ends up with a 4 hours queue. don't expect to have a place, for you and your friends, in any of the last life boats.because it is very likely that you will go down with the ship and drown.

Another "omg I'm not in yet! Worst sucky MMO launch ever!" thread? People... It's fine to wish to play but do you really have to pollute these forums even more by making thread after thread about the very same topic?
Rules of Early Access were known all the time so you have absolutely no right to complain. Live with it.
Greatness is difficult to appreciate from close up. The great mountain on the horizon is only the ground when you are standing on it.
Well I just got my invite and I wasnt in the first lot so I guess I am second class then. :P
That's deep man. Pay more, get more perks. That's actually the way it normally goes.
I'm still not a fan of any early-access. It's actually downright wrong for PvP servers since you now have an unfair advantage over the peasants who start on the 20th.
no, OP is dead right. I don't feel the need for lengthy analogies, but this staggered invite crap is total horsepoop. They should have started it an hour or 2 earlier, let everyone in at once, and just capped server pops in stages to keep them from getting overloaded.
exactly i agree with you. but the thing is. people who preorders early pays exactly the same as the others.
In other words, favor the people who take the day off/sitting in front of their keyboard all day abusing the play button on the launcher?
OP, you better take a long hard look at life. The people who sit up front in a plane and eat proper food, the people who wear nicer clothes, drive nicer cars, live in bigger houses. I could go on...
However this is not an issue of wealth, but of faith. You waited to pre-order the game. Why? Whatever the reason this is what you get for it. The people who have been hanging out for it and pre-ordered within minutes on July 21st get their reward. You didn't so don't complain about it now. Are you going to complain when you do your Christmas shopping on December 24th and find that stuff you want is out of stock because people bought it before you did?
Isnt everyone in by the 15th anyway? everyone gets their five days, no?
And all the whining about character names? Have some originality and you wont have to worry. Yes, your body size 4 bounty hunter wont be able to get the name BobaFatt. It will be ok.
I ordered in November so I guess that makes me the man overboard - I only got to step on the ship before falling off. The only problem I have with the staggered release is the name thing - you know some turds will be going from server to server reserving their favorite special names - I'll end up with something like "Chewy1234ThG" lol..
oh this don't affect me personally, in fact im still having a blast playing skyrim and doing all the xmass shopping.
i think they could have done things differently, in a much better way than this.
No, it was a MAXIMUM of 5 days. They added 2 more on top of that. you could get as little as 1 day (in theroy)
Oh the humanity!
C'mon man - Originality is so not-original and 2007. It's much more clever if you can just spin off an established name these days.
I have a backup name which never goes, but if it does, i have a last resort which will involve a reference to poo.
Well a reference to poo is my first priority!
All I really wanted was to name my Jedi Sentinel "Billy" because everyone knows nobody with the name Billy would ever have any force powers, it simply would be impossible...the force would not work...
I disagree with you entirely OP in all but one area Names. Is it a deal omg rager breaker no, sucks sure. All in All if a name is that important just wait for a new server to go Live and jump to it ASAP and get the name u want.
Well...it's good to be from the west...bad to be from the other 80% of the world...what can ya do?
Anyone who took the day off today in "hopes" that they would get in is their own fault! BW never guaranteed anyone a day of entry. So do like I might do, when I get my email *cough* *cough* go home sick
LOL
you speaking for yourself right? do you even realise that the date of a preorder don't have anything to do, with paying more or less? everyone paid the exact same 5 bucks. it all depends on what version of the game you bought. i bought a CE myself wich costs over 100 euros.
Do what grownups do. Realize that you can't have everything now now now and be patient. A week ago, we weren't starting til' the 15th. Why is it some crime now, that you aren't in on the 13th???
So you go to a movie and find out it's sold out and you have to wait for the next showing. Do you then jump up on the concession stand and shriek about being treated like a second class citizen? Frankly your declaration is an insult to minorities and oppressed peoples all over the globe...
I haven't gotten my invite either. I'll get it when I get it, and so long as I get it before launch, Bioware will have kept its promise to me.
This sould make ya feel good.... I cancelled my ce pre-order after beta a few weeks ago and I fot an invite in the 1st wave.. lol
