So far this game is far too easy to satisfy the Veteran MMO players, you can run commando through everything and barely take a scratch as a scout class......
Problem 2 is the community is horrible, I mentioned about the game being too easy on the official forums, and you'd swear
I just stabbed George Lucas himself they were so mad.......... then the name calling started....... lol
other than that, such an amazing game, I will have alot of fun for the 30-40h to play through everything.......
Comments
yes it is blasphemy to say anything critical about this game especially on the official forums

The worst part is, they're not even remotely reasonable about it, they
draw in unrelated nonsense to attempt to make a point.....
Reminds me of the rabid Star Wars fans in general. Maybe a topic on how Star Trek Online was the best MMO ever is in order.
i remember people on there forums saying similar things as well... im a HUGE star wars fan but you have to be able to look past the fact its star wars and see whats left... its not a bad game by any means but not even close to what I was hoping in pretty much every aspect so far.. but its good enough to hopefully keep my occupied till something better gets released

Could be a bad thing or good thing. You ever say anything bad about a crap move Blizzard made..see a WoW fan defend the game and wonder what they are smoking?
Now notice the population of WoW still? It could be a good thing to counter the WoW fanbois with TOR fans!

You say anything wrong, someones going to hunt you down for real, so watch out now!
The truth may be puzzling. It may take some work to grapple with. It may be counterintuitive. It may contradict deeply held prejudices. It may not be consonant with what we desperately want to be true. But our preferences do not determine what's true.
Carl Sagan-
30-40h ? To play everything?
I've got 24 hours played almost, and i'm only 22. AND I skip a lot of the voice acting/quest stuff. I do however do all the quests in a zone, if I were to skip a few here and there and only rush to get the class quests done and such i'd probably be a bit further along.
TOR community the worst?
Hardly.
I've been following the game for a little over 6 months and the community is not even close to as bad as WoW's, dota, LoL MW3 etc. Hyperbole.
I will admit that people can be a little harsh when defending the game, but most of the people bad mouthing the game on the forums are usually trolls and all that entails whether that be spreading misinformation, bashing trivial things, or having a hidden agenda aka GW 2 or WoW fanboy.
As to 30-40 hours of content to play through the game. REALLY?
I played the open beta and put about 15 hours into 2 different characters on the empire side just doing basic quests and 1 low level flash point. I made it to 16 and 13 on the two characters and that was doing very minimal crafting and a couple of hours of pvp.
If I had run all the flashpoints and done more crafting/pvp I could easily double my play time just on the first 2 planets. Leveling also slows down alot after 20. End game you will have raiding, crafting, socializing, instanced and world pvp and this is just for launch. Bioware has a TON of content they will be able to add to the game as time goes by. You think WoW has content? Give TOR 1 years worth of content updates and an expansion and holy crap this games level of content will be staggering.
There is so much misinformation and outright lying going on about TOR lately it's pretty sad.
OP was refering to "Commando as being aka "Naked".
Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...
That is very promising to hear at least
worst MMO community I have dealt with was probably lineage 2.. but guess you gotta expect that from a PVP centric MMO.. just look at call of duty go online in that game and wow the inmaturity of the people playing that game is amazing...

Why would you stab George Lucas? That's just mean, man.
Keep selling ! Are you getting commision ?
Why ? don't you think he deserves it, he did create ja ja after all.

I actually agree with you.
On the difficulty part though, you can make your own challenges. We fought world bosses meant for 4 with 2 people (with companions of course). It took a while (5 mins-ish), and lots of kiting, but we got it done. Anyways, there are challenges to be found but yes, I agree that the game so far is pretty easy. We'll see how heroic instances are in the endgame though.
As for community, I agree with you so far, espcially in-game. It seems that this game's community is very similar to WoW when it comes to chat and grouping etiquette, which is really unfortunate. I think WoW's is still worse, so hopefully SWTOR's won't degrade as bad as WoW has.
