Was the CU the first step for Raid content?

For many this is a bad thing, for me this is a good thing!

SWG was overdue for a complete change from that combat system it used to have!
Does this mean we'll actually get Raids like we see in EQ and WOW now?

I sure hope so :) I'd like having quests that mean something other than more money!

ROTW added a bunch of higher end targets on Kashyyk (Necrosis being one of them) that drop nice items that people like to get. And they've already started adding high end 'boss' type events to the game but nothing like raids EQ Style yet. Nor is there a grouping style yet that would allow an entire guild to raid together easily since they cut group sizes down to 8 people (THAT one I'll never understand).

But it looks like they may be headed that way. They've been adding other 'single target' creatures that require a group to take down so I would suspect that 'raid level' targets may be coming soon as well.

You had raids ever since they introduced the Death Watch Bunker.

    Have fun

The DWB just flat out sucks. You almost always need a slew of jedi to get through the place, only to find that bugs prevent you from crafting your madalorian items.

Odd... I don't ever remember it requiring a Jedi... We went the other day without any.

But your post points out yet another reason they should just remove jedi from the game: They make PVE a bitch to balance for non-jedi players as well. Because if they balance it for non-jedi then jedi players have a cakewalk and can solo everything. If they balance it for Jedi non-jedi players can't do stuff without a jedi in the group.

A lot of people used to say you had to have a Jedi to do Necrosis too... and you don't... we did it with 5 people and no Jedi the other day. (There's a way to do it with less than that but it's cheezy)

I didn't say that the DWB required Jedi either.

SOE needs to make the Jedi profession, just like any other. Not only would this satisfy some of the continuity enthusiasts, but would make balancing the overall game a bit easier.

Yes you did. You said it sux and almost always needs a slew of jedi to get through. This is patently false. You can get through it fine without ANY jedi. I don't recommend taking anyone under CL70 though, because they will die horrible nasty deaths.

'Almost Always' doesn't equate to 'required' in my book. If I meant it as a requirement I would have said so.

    Bzzzzzt wrongo

The content is very well balanced across the board

    All themeparks: CL 20-30
    Warrens: CL 60ish
    Droideka Caverns: CL 40'ish
    Most of Kashyyk: CL 20-60
    Hero Quest: CL 50-60ish
Spider Clan Caverns: CL 60-70, 80's can go too but mostly green stuff.
Tuskan Fort: CL 40-60 I think...
    Space Content: CL0-80

Avatar Platform, Corvette, DWB, Ryukk Trail (level 4 and lower) and the deeper portions of myrdrill caverns are for CL 80's.

And that, my friends, is just the stuff I have gone back and checked on in the last couple months since CU... There is tons more content in the game that I have not checked and some I haven't even been to yet. Also of note is that anyone, any CL, can join a large group of CL80's and have fun in ANY of those locations except DWB, Avatar and Corvette without much trouble. And even there they can have fun but my have to get resuccitated from time to time.

ohh you mean like gather some people and go get the "uber-droper-o-some-phat-l00t" and kill it type of raids? I am sure that when the GCW is finaly killed SEO will provide image
