MMORPGers ages. How old?

Some would argue that 13 is too young and 40 is too old! Should there be an age limit? Do you hate playing with old people? Young people? Immature people? Tell me what you think!!!

you might be able to make an arguement for a minimum age (although i wouldn't personally). This based on the fact that there is only so much control that can be had over a situation where you have all age groups interacting from 'behind the mask' of a computer. The idea of a maximum age is absolutely asinie. I think everyone agrees immature players are not good(except for other immature players). The definition of immaturity is too subjective to make a rule against it.

honestly I would rather not know a persons age when I'm playing online games. It's different if I'm getting to know someone in a guild or whatever, but for the most part I like to keep it anonymous. That way there is no bias against the person due to their age. Although it is easy to spot an immature little kid, but that's different. I agree that it doesn't matter what age you are as long as you are able to comprehend and play maturely.

I'm 18 btw. Started playing MMORPGs when I was 14. Looking back...I wasn't the brightest of the bunch, and really didn't fully understand the concept of mmorpgs, but overtime I learned and understood. If there has to be an age cap I think 12 and under shouldn't be allowed to play simply because the majority are going to be stupid idiots that can't comprehend the game. There are always exceptions of course.

Age cap? Hrm...I played AC1 when I was 11, and I usually was alot more intelligent, and more skilled in the game then most "older" people. Maybe more well put would be not an age cap, but a stupidity cap. Nm, that'd kill the masses.

Like I said before, I'm 23 and I fully agree that there shouldn't be an age limit, if you can act mature, that's good enough for me.

I used to think there shouldn't be little kids on games. But when i played counter-strike i remember this one kid that was amazing and everyone liked him (and no he didn't hack). And one day he got a headset and when he talked he sounded like a little kid. Once the people found out he was 11 years old barely anyone would talk to him, but i always talked to him, regardless of his age.

Actually I'm 27 and have no problem with younger people playing. I used to run a CS clan a few years back called RipperX (www.ripperx.com) and had lots of younger members they were great!
