Lineage 2 Account Compromise?

RenoakuRenoaku Member EpicPosts: 3,157

I tried to login to Lineage 2 early this morning yesterday server was too full to get in so Finally I tried to get into Lineage 2 Today, and I found my account was compromised, All the value of items which were worth over 8 Million Enchanted B-Grade armors, My Weapons, and all tradeable items were stolen or deleted from my account.

1. Either this was a account compromise.

2. Maybe it was a server error, or some other reason.

I do have an Anti Virus, a Firewall, Etc my computer shows it is clean, and I checked my routers logs as well as firewall logs I have not seen any outbound connections, or incomming connections that looked wierd.

http://boards.lineage2.com/showthread.php?t=224566 Seems other people have similar issues.

My account was fine unti I reactivated it a month before the game went Free 2 Play, all my items were there. My second account with the same password also was not compromised either.

I did find like 42k in gold left on my account as well as some of the items in my bank but all my characters items actually worth money were gone.

If you have a Lineage 2 account that has been inactive, or are still playing currently you might want to change your password again  just to be safe.

With the popularity of Lineage 2 increasing and finally jam packed servers I think it is time that NcSoft offer an authinticator, as well as get rid of some bots since my wow authinticator was activated I have not got any more account compromise on those accounts.

First thing you should do is download Malwarebytes and do a complete scan to find any Keyloggers or other viruses you may have that have compromised your security locally. Don't use your installed virus protection to scan because if you're infected it may have already compromised that program as well. Then if your machine is clean you should change the passwords for any email accounts you have associated with your online games. Last thing is changing your logins for your online games after you've verified security both locally and on your email accounts. Either your machine or your email account has been compromised and even if you change your login info for Lineage 2 they will just snag your account again. Make sure you scan your computer first before changing any passwords!

Yeah I downloaded the program and scanned my computer it didn't find any type of keyloggers or anything I used both Malaware Bytes, and then my Virus Scanner nothing found. I also checked my email for any passwords reset, and it had nothing in there showing my NC Soft account password was reset, then again I have multiple games on my Play NC account, and they could have logged into those too and taken everything but didn't.

Changing the game login might not be easy since I would have to get support to restore my stuff if they even do that and change my name, the NCSoft master account doesn't allow me to change my name, only my password which I already changed.

I mean if I had some type of keylogger on my computer and was playing a month ago or more before it went Free 2 Play why would they have randomly choose to access my account after it goes F2P and at a certain time it is just wierd.
