Hmmm... at this rate of levelling a great many people will reach level-cap before the end of the first free month, without having to "spacebar" through the storyline. Perhaps you could even finish 2 or 3 storylines in the free month ?

It's going to be REALLY interesting to see how many of these players are willing to pay a monthly sub just so they can start new alts and play through all the different storylines.

Well, at lvl 50, assuming you quested there, you're about halfway through chapter 3 of 5 of the story.

The problem is quests. Quests should not give XP. Period. Only items etc.

Then it would take longer to hit max level.

Also fast travel should not exist, well as in instant travelling, horse/taxi is ok.

Also, there should be harder areas, where a group would be needed, longer aggro range, monsters grouping up/adding.

There should be PvP stuff for people to do, as in, "omg this is so fun, i never wanna leave"!, in the midlevels, maybe some battleground from 20-24, 30-34 etc... where the XP would be awesome, and the fun even more...

Yeah... + some more.... oh wait... there cant be any games out there that has all these goodies... can there...

I think you mean in other themepark MMOs.

In sandbox you get to kill thousands of mobs for no apparent reason just to level.

Also, decent SPRPGs generally take around 60 hours to beat.

How is this game exactly "done" in 60 hours?  It's got everything that every other MMO has in terms of end game play, so if we're going to use the "but it's an MMO" line, then let's view it as an MMO, meaning let's also judge the game on its endgame content as well.

I swear, some of us on this site will use whatever label we can to make sure this game doesn't get a fair shake.

"It's a single player RPG with multiplayer options!"

"No wait, it's an MMO, and you aren't supposed to level that fast.  The game is 'done' in 60 hours!"

"Wait, there's endgame content?  Ummm, it's a single player RPG!"

Seriously, you guys are beginning to trip over your own criticisms of the game.

Yes, it does technically have most of everything that other themepark MMORPGs have.

WoW has raids, SWTOR has raids (operations).

WoW has PvP, SWTOR has PvP.

WoW has dungeons, SWTOR has dungeons.

But here's the problem.  Other games in the genre (esp. WoW) have A LOT MORE of all of the above, and many do it arguably much better than SWTOR.  In addition, SWTOR doesn't really offer anyting that WoW doesn't offer in the end-game department.  So unless someone is completely burned out on WoW, I don't see why they would move their permanent "home" to SWTOR when they could just go back to WoW after they get max level with whatever chars they want in SWTOR.

SWTOR has (IMO) the most enjoyable leveling process of any themepark MMORPG I've played...hands down.  But it's really lacking in the other departments.  And that's what I'm trying to say.

An awesome leveling process is great but it ends when you reach max level.  That's when the other parts of the game need to pick up the slack.  I just don't see this happening with SWTOR in its current state.

If it offered something foundationally different in the end-game dept. that WoW doesn't offer at all, then I would change my tune.  But it doesn't.

Not really, I played WOW up until a year ago. SWTOR has WAY better crafting, better warzones, better story, better everything/ I don't see where it is lacking anywhere, and considering that you can play all the dungeons at level 50 hard mode and also they are already currently working on new content then I see no issue. My SI is currently level 20 and I am still on Chapter 1 on my story and I have at least been logging 5-6 hours a day, then again I explored and did some pvp. Could I have been level 50 already? Yes, but then I would have missed out on some truly interesting quests and pvp.

    In Bioware we trust!

There is no point in trying to tell anything to anyone here its always been like this on new releases, look at WoW bashed here constantly still the one with more ppl playing it. Its a place where you can have a good argument with some ppl and then there is the other vocal minority that shouts doom at everything and predict 10mil subs or 10 subs after the second month.

Its a matter of filtering them out and just reading the useful stuff.

In this particular case, I agree with Creslin*. Star Wars isn't being released in a void, it's being released in an environment where WoW has the best end game content by virtue of having the most time to work on it. Rift is playing catch up (and they are catching up). SWToR will need to out do the end game of both if that's the type of end game they plan on having.

    * I do not, however, like Creslin's avatar. I find myself wanting to disagree with Creslin because of their avatar, but they have a point.

I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.

This is something ive wondered about for a long time. To me leveling and exploration are the best part of any game. Especially in a game where lore and personal story is the main focus it would seem the "must level fast" guys are missing most of the game. To me endgame is just that, something to do at the end of the game. But  those that rush to end game paid for the game and can play it how they like.

Really? This game sucks and Im not having fun? Im going to unsub right now. Thanks for the tip.

Talk about hard core!  Lol!  That dude must have been playing 24/7 or at least had a team of people playing the same character.  I knew somebody who did that way back in the EQ days.

No not so much hardcore but how pityfully shallow & pathetic SW:TOR is...

I agree. Who cares who reached 50 first. It's your time, your money. Enjoy it how you want to enjoy and how fast/slow you want to enjoy it. I bet those people, who are level 50, will be the ones ccomplaining about how bored they are. Didnt realize it was a race.
