Weapon sheathe animations yet?

wilbergwilberg Member Posts: 182

Just curious if the animation team put the hour of time in yet to make weapon shetahe/unsheathe animations.

Just checked and the answer is no. There is not a physical animation for this. There is a deeper reason why this is not included. There are certain builds that work with macros that would not realistically work if this was included.

This build would not realistically work because this macro is part of it

    Charge

    #show shield charge

    Cast thread the trees

    Loadequip 9 {your sword n board}

    Cast shield charge

Sorry, but that is just weak. I remember back in the days in WoW my rogue could very well sheate/unsheate weapons and still switch from dagger to sword with macros in combat.

I don't buy your point as the "deeper reason". The reason ist most likely that they didn't bother and not because of some macro/build issues which at the time the game got developed and this decision was made weren't even foreseeable.

Let's speculate: What if Trion decides to no longer not let the player change his gear in combat... do you think they would add sheate/unsheate animations then?

Not to be a prick here, but this debate is pretty damn old. Bioware launched TOR without half the crap RIFT launches and I am sitting here debating how important sheethe animations are.

This is a pure hypocritical debate and I am done with it.

I don't see what one has to do with other here. But i do see that lately whenever someone raises a point against Rift, you see the need to drag " but SWTOR's having fewer features than Rift" into the discussion. Ok, nothing against your opinion, but why not for once leaving what you see as "flaws" in SWTOR out of a Rift topic? On a sidenote: Whenever you start a Rift thread here and someone gets slightly offtopic or starts to talk about SWTOR in comparision, these postings get deleted immidiately (just as this one will probably get)

Don't get me wrong, there are many things i don't like about SWTOR either, just as i don't like some things Trion does. At this point, Rift is still the better game to me. I was just stating that imo the missing animations for sheating weapons are in no way left out to enable some macro functions for certain builds and your "deeper reason" is quite far fetched.

Its what it has that Rift doesnt have thats more important.

While its not EQ or WoW level, it does have soul.  Rift does not.

Like I said in my quote this is some of the most derped up stuff to be debating. This is the type of crap you care about when there are no other major issues. Weapon sheeting animation at the top of the OP's list then Rift is a pretty damn good game.

If we want to sit here and compare which everyone does anyways then compare it to something that just launched. If something more recent then TOR launched then I would use that for comparrison.

You have not seen crap in your life until you see people unsub from Rift because their ward drobe does not match...this goes on the COME ON MAN!
