Games with Expansions?

NuraiNurai Member Posts: 18

I haven't played any games that used expansions yet. How does this work? I want to start playing a couple mmo's like DaoC but I don't want to have to spend too much up front to get access to all the classes/races. Is this required for games with 3+ expansions? Any info is appreciated.

DAoC has a relatively inexpensive platinum edition or something that has like all the expansions except for the most recent one included for around $20 or so.

The most recent expansion, Catacombs is another great addition for DAoC and will probably run you another $20. Still you should be able to get well into DAoC for about $20 and definately get all the expansions for under $50.

By the way, before you play - you may want to give it a try just to make sure it's for you.

Check out a new players 14 day free trial here:

    Hope that helps you.

If you are going to play DoaC, then it would be advised to atleast get the Platinum Edition. However, you should also try the 14 Day Free Trial, like zaxtor99 said, to see if you enjoy it, or not.

Most other MMORPG's that have a few expansions (like 2+) you can mostly get a Platinum Edition, or something similar, that has most, if not all of the expansion with it. It also costs pretty cheap, too image.
