TERA: Political System Trailer

SBFordSBFord Former Associate EditorMember LegendaryPosts: 33,129

Frogster has released a new EU trailer for TERA. The new trailer details the political system that will ship with TERA and the process that players will need to go through in order to become an in-game leader, or Vanarch. See if you've got what it takes.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The political system sounds like it could be a cool feature, if it works as intended.  Whats not cool is the size of those weapons, makes the game just look silly.

Every time a female character was on screen I completely lost whatever the announcer was saying.  /sigh

Not digging the social network aspect, voting for players via facebook, twitter, etc.  Give me a break.

Also, he said spring of 2012.  So is that when it's supposed to release?  Doesn't TSW come out then?  Ha, good luck Tera.  You should have come out in the summer of 2011 for a nice half year of players not being pulled away to other games.

    Not a bad trailer actually.

I like it. They are trying something different here, so at the least you have to give them props for that. We'll see how it goes when released.

@elocke - You saying TSW is going to be better? Monthy payment AND a cash shop already has people looking away from that one.

Looks like an awesome system but required to be a guild leader could be bad because member votes could be exploited with alt.

There are just too many ways to exploit it...

    "It has potential"
-Second most used phrase on existence
    "It sucks"
    -Most used phrase on existence

Agreed. can't stand these idiotically oversized weapons.

I couldn't care less how a game looks if the gameplay makes up for it.

I realize that's hyperbole to make your point, but I bet it's untrue.  Take any of the games you currently play and imagine it with graphics like the original UO or using hyperbole against your point with the graphics like the old Atari Pitfall.

With everyone it's a balancing act that includes gameplay, graphics and other factors.  For me, two big scale tippers are weapons like shown in the video and player graphics that look like they were taken from a Japanimation show.

The exploit people did was befriend a guild on another server and then make characters on each others servers to vote for the other. Thats why they had to raise the level requirement to vote in it now.

Players will exploit this feature, that is a guarenteed fact.  Remains to be seen if the developers can keep up with them.

there is a limit to exploiting with alts as in the korean version the level to vote was around 25 but they changed it to 40 so I think the NA version will be similar.

So true. This game is coming to market way too late. They should have just released it early as a Free 2 Play game.

Do you realize that getting to 40 in the Korean version was only about a couple weeks in game.  I would be shorter if they used bots.
