In an unexpected move the GM's at Netmarble have voted to not support those players that play with more than character at any one time.
This is to open up the back door to many players that felt that they were disadvantaged by using one character.
It remains to be seen if they intend to enforce their new TOS but at least it gives them the option to do so.
A good move imo, should have been done long ago.

Yes, if you left the game because you didn't like 1 person playing more than one toon at a time and unbalancing things, come on back. I'd love to see you people back in game.
it just took them 1 year to do that...
Good players/community already moved on to SWTOR or SKYRIM. I am sure they are losing more and more players and server is more deserted now with the new games coming out. (not to mentin there is only 1 server, good thing it doesnt cost them anything to upkeep 1 server)
The fact that UWO has one server that can still cope with a lot of players is based on good japanese design, for it to cope with a World sized Map and all the expansions with relatively no lag makes for an enjoyable game experience where there is a ton of free to play content for players to enjoy.
There will always be some that want to leave to try out new mmos, they rarely stay in one game for long.
Sure some players have left UWO as you would expect but it is not dead yet, many new players have joined to replace them.
What makes UWO unique is that it is an historic global mmo mainly based on discovery and sailing ships, some players waited a long time for it to be released in English and the heart of the community although weakened by unwise rules etc still exists so it's not yet doing to die.Tthere is still a possibility for growth as the GM's and Netmarble are coming to terms with who they see are their real lasting community.
