SW:TOR has the worst looking end game armor I've ever seen.

    Holy crap...

People are going to run for the exits once they reach endgame lol.

Hey! Bioware! Endgame gear is supposed to look awesome.

    Playing: Nothing

    Looking forward to: Nothing

I agree.   Imo, I would have preferred the endgame gear to look more iconic, and less BW/Mass Effects.

Female Force-caster and Vindicator are actually very pretty, I think. But the rest are....unfortunate. There's room all over those armors for at least some better texturing to make them more interesting, but they're very plain and blocky. Especially the male versions of all those armors, though male Stalker isn't ~too~ bad.

This is why I would never build a game off of an existing IP.

Bioware has to make things believable in the star wars universe.

They would have done MUCH better to make a Mass Effect or Dragon Age MMO.

just btw: do the specializations share the same kind of armor(designs)? or do they have unique designs each (f.e. vanguard - commando)?

I don't share your sentiments, guys.

I can't name another MMO that has lots of cool armor when it first came out. With that said, I have seen lots of VERY impresive looking characters while in the Imperial Fleet. I think Consulars look lame, but other than that I am very happy with what we have. My only other complaint is that Juggernauts look like robots. I would prefer to have a more Darth Vader cloak and armor design.

Those photos are incredibly low-resolution and look washed out. I think you guys are overreacting.

I'd have to agree that I have seen some damn ugly looking gear... but luckily "beauty is only skin deep"

This is sci-fi fantasy folks, your cultural ignorance won't work here, sorry. If you aren't able to handle the artwork, by all means, cancel your sub. I for one enjoy something a little different from the WoW era of MMOs. Funny how things that look too much like WoW are a clone and stuff that looks nothing like WoW are abominations.

    Move along... move along.

tbh I would rather see / wear armor from SW I & II instead of the "robotic tin can armor" we see in tor.

BTW:  I cannnot believe you brought up the "cultural ignorance" card.......Lol

Star Wars have never been about looking badass. Even the technology "looks" retro

However it is understandable that the MMO community is disappointed. Showing your shiny gear of has always been a main drive for many.

Simple solution... Find gear with mods slots you like and take the mods off the endgame gear and put it on your other gear... PRRRABREEM solved.

Consular headgear is the worst I've ever seen in a game - it's like Queen Amidala's headdress from the SW prequals.

As others have stated, that's why it is great to use orange modded gear instead!

There are loads of orange armor types from badge vendors and the like, more so in the later half of in the game.

    That's so WoW  >:)

Common Sense Logic = P2P logic is no better than F2P Logic.

True, but imo, it needs to be expanded to more gear (if not most gear).

Programers dont do art designs. [Mod Edit]

In some of these games, it almost seems like that could be the problem.  I mean, I know they must be artists, but it just seems like creativity isn't their strong suit.  Which is odd.  My gf was watching me play, and commented that it looks like the environment was designed by a mathematician with aspergers.  (She's played most MMOs with me, but won't touch this one.)

    When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world.

    Lol.  Points to the GF.

Imo, it is a pity that BW could not let players mod the gear graphics, like they do with DAO.   Players have far more talent, when it comes to that stuff, imo.

    I have to agree.

Interestingly, the game does have some very well designed gear, too. The stuff you wear at 40 and even 30 looks rather cool. I don't know what happened with endgame gear design, my only guess is Blizzard designers hacked into Bioware's database at that stage. :P

The enggame is also as pointless and worthless as world of warcraft, I don't see a point to raiding when there is no more non-raid use for gear, I would say pvp, but wpw and swtor have a special stat that pretty much removes pve raid gear from pvp use. I don't get why no game can ever get this right, last game that did was daoc, and a f2p title called rising force online.

Being a pessimist is a win-win pattern of thinking. If you're a pessimist (I'll admit that I am!) you're either:

    A. Proven right (if something bad happens)

    or

    B. Pleasantly surprised (if something good happens)

Either way, you can't lose! Try it out sometime!
