Anyone who doesn't like GW2 is living a crappy existence. No kidding..i can quote the post.
Yea that is ridiculous lol.
My top 5 things I said about GW 2 that were ridiculous before I played it at PAX was...
1. It doesn't change from the WoW formula
2.I bet the gameplay and the story elements are unbalanced
3.It's animations are not as fluid as SWTOR or AOC's
4.The DE's are still Kill 10 rats.
5.It looks so easy and I'm sure the starter areas and npcs aswell as mobs are static like almost every other MMORPG.
That's what I said before playing at PAX...coming out of PAX...well I was wrong
I might get banned for this. - Rizel Star.

The only thing that I don’t like in GW2 is when producers introduce themselves the same way the character does in their cinematic movies like: “my name is ……………. I am………. and I’m here to….” LOL
Please, stop doing that. Are they competing with the characters of who is more epic? LOL
1) Guild wars 2 is going to be the first mmo ever to include public toilets, so in between your grinding when you feel like a bo bo coming on , then you can go find the nearest toilet and let all those blues fade away !
2) Guild Wars 2 is a Sci Fi MMo !!!
3) Guild Wars 2 is already out!
4) Guild Wars 2 is going to be coming out for consoles only.
5) Guild Wars 2 has all its Characters stolen from J. R. R. Tolkiens Works !
1) Guild Wars 2 will have no effect on subcription numbers of other games because it uses a different payment model.
Only true if people who prefer GW2 to their regular sub, don't mind paying for a game they aren't playing. Likely true for some, but not for all. Maybe not even for the majority. I think most of us stick to one game at a time and will only maintain a subscription for a game we are actively playing.
#1 most ridiculous statement about GW2 at the moment: GW2 is overhyped.
This game is going to be so much cooler than people realize, and make other games look so old and cheap it's beyond ridiculous. If I were the competition, I'd be getting my loins professionally girded.

but its a Fantasy setting game, its based on the logic of Ancients rather than futuristics. How can a bow and arrow ever beat a light saber and mortar bombs ?
4) Well, people say the npc's will be more intelligent, i.e. will ignore the armor wielding warrior in front of them and go after the more squishy caster, but I'm not sure how much that is going to look like random behavior vs actual intelligence, but again, I've not seen it in action.
4) It's not random behaviour. Monsters in GW1 would always go for the squisher target. They were not stupid. They would not attack the warrior if they were not forced to by either path blocking or when casters didn't engage in the fight. Also they wouldn't stay in AOEs they would just scatter and go for the casters

This is true. The target selection by mobs have been some of the best I've seen. It IS different in GW2 though, apparently. Now, as far as Anet has said so far, mobs only attack who is closest. I have no clue if there are any other factors involved. If not, it creates some interesting strategies. For example, everyone will stand in a circle around the mob and just juggle it. Everyone takes a turn at controling it, while everyone else damages it.
For me:
5. GW2 is entirely instanced. (It's not instanced. It's a persistent world, but apparently it is not seamless)
4. GW2 is just another korean grindfest.
3. LOLOL will not buy anything made by NCSoft. (Developed by ArenaNet, published by NCSoft.)
2. GW2 comparisons to ToR or any other MMO for that matter. Take GW2 for what it is, another game. Stop comparing it, or putting it against some other game out there. Both games can coexist together. In fact, the diversity in games is great for us. Also, stop going x game is stealing y idea from z game. Have you heard that there is nothing original under the sun. Everything you see in games today can be found somewhere else. What matter is how the game implements the idea.
1. <Any statement that attempts to relate GW2 to GW1 in any way other than lore>

You know, I played GW1 when it first launched, and I just didn't see it the same way you did. To me the behavior was more random than anything else, but it has been quite awhile or maybe it was improved in later expansions.

No seriously how are you gonna tank and heal without trinity, can anyone explain?
They just revealed that recently in an interview. Turns out the Mesmer has a skill called The Prestige where he disappears in a puff of smoke, and then re-appears 3 seconds later and sets nearby enemies on fire. So there you go. Presto. No more trinity.

Nobody is tanking, that's the whole point. And everybody heals themselves. It's still a trinity, just not holy trinity. It's a trinity of damage, support and control.
However, just because you spec into 1 role doesn't mean you aren't doing the rest anymore, and you can pretty much switch roles completely during combat. That way you no longer have that annoying situation where a group of 3 dps has to wait an hour for a tank and healer. It also means that when you die, it's almost completely your own fault.
You know, I played GW1 when it first launched, and I just didn't see it the same way you did. To me the behavior was more random than anything else, but it has been quite awhile or maybe it was improved in later expansions.
It actually was revamped in later expansions. It was a bit more simplistic at launch (warriors were tanks back then), and they revamped it and made it a lot more challenging.
Mobs behave much differently nowadays than they did @ launch. They will go after the squishier targets, and they will avoid AoE if given the choice. There are strategies for dealing with this, but this is how the AI functions in GW1 currently.
- As to the question about the trinity:
- Classes now have a mix of damage, control, and support skills. No class is going to be limited to one of those three, and each class will handle those 3 roles differently. So a mesmer will have skills that help support the group, deal damage, and some that control enemy actions. So will the guardian. These can be used in a number of different ways, depending on how clever the player is.
For example, a guardian can put down a wall to block enemy movements, while a ranged attacks them from another angle, or your group attempts to run away (this could be viewed as tanking). However, the guardian could use that same skill to trap enemies in AoE fire (this is more like control now). Same skill, different purpose.
A mesmer could use his teleportation skill to juggle a monster between 2 points (tanking), or he could use it to bait the monster into a trap and escape (control).
It may seem like semantics, but this is a really basic example of how skills work in GW2, and how they can be quite versatile depending on the player. Other examples would be you could use conditions to stack up damage, reduce enemy damage, or to set up a teammate for another skill (knockdown, lifeleech, etc.).
1. GW2 isn't anything special, but ANet has undergone a brilliant "smoke and mirrors" marketing conspiracy to fool people into thinking it will be.
2. I'm not playing GW2 because you can't jump in it.
EDIT, also have to add...
3. GW2 isn't removing the trinity, they are just replacing it with a slightly different, yet nearly mechinically equivalent trinity system.
My favorite rant on number 3 is when people say that GW2 still has a trinity because there will still be tanking, healing, and damage in the game. These people obviously have no clue what the trinity actually means.
My number 1 is: GW2 will be the best game ever made. Other 4 are mostly related to bragging about innovation this game has.
Who said GW2 will be the best game ever made? I doubt it would beat Zelda: Majora's Mask.
Anyway, so you're basically mad at people bragging and insulting other games right? Because let's be honest here, you're delusional if you think GW2 isn't innovative.

5. Actually, there is a trinity. Just not a holy trinity. It's much more dynamic and not stagnant. Every class is capable of doing all three areas.
4. Never seen that claim before.
3. You think it's a ridiculous statement? It's more of a factual one.
2. Are you saying ArenaNet didn't do a good job with GW1? Because they did. Or are you saying that it's irrelevant to how they make GW2? 1. I don't care about WoW or how well it does. People who make that statement annoy me as well.

2) I'm saying ANET didn't make an MMORPG with GW1 and I didn't enjoy the game that much, which has nothing to do with how good a game it is. It is largely irrelevant to how GW 2 is being done as it will be their first true MMORPG. 4. Most the npc's we've seen have been pretty weak just to accomodate demos and presentations. Not sure how smart they'll be by the end of development.
3. GW1 made all classes viable.
2. ArenaNet doesn't have a track record of making MMOs that you enjoy playing because they haven't made an MMO yet. GW1 is not an MMO. They've said this multiple times and it should be obvious.

2. No one will ever play a Charr.

I might get banned for this. - Rizel Star.
I'm not afraid to tell trolls what they [need] to hear, even if that means for me to have an forced absence afterwards.
P2P LOGIC = If it's P2P it means longevity, overall better game, and THE BEST SUPPORT EVER!!!!!(Which has been rinsed and repeated about a thousand times)
Common Sense Logic = P2P logic is no better than F2P Logic.
It doesn't stop the Guild Wars 2 fanboys from making comments now does it? Can we apply your logic to them, too? Didn't think so.
Is a man not entitled to the herp of his derp?

5. It is just like GW1
4. It will kill WoW
3. It is B2P so it doesn't affect P2P

"Great minds talk about ideas, average minds talk about events, and small minds talk about people." - Eleanor Roosevelt
"Americans used to roar like lions for liberty; now we bleat like sheep for security." -Norman Vincent Peale
To add to that there would be a lot less trolls if there were more realistic fanboys. Some GWII fanboys are borderline cultish, in which I have not seen since the DF forum pre-release. Whne they make absurd statements it opens it up to trolling.
Waiting for:EQ-Next, ArcheAge (not so much anymore)
Now Playing: N/A
Worst MMO: FFXIV
Favorite MMO: FFXI
That happens with every game, it's not just exclusive to GW2. I've seen the same exact thing from ToR, TSW, WoW, etc. fanboys.
