Warrior, which is pretty much my pick for for any MMO/RPG. They always seem to be the most generic and overall lackluster class, and GW2 doesn't seem like it's changed anything in that regard.
Definitely didn't read the "Least" part of the section, and then went on to click on Asura (my favorite race) in the poll and then realized that I made a mistake. For the loss.
now i know there's an issue, oh well more gear and goodies for me,. LOL i love the engineer gonna make that my main and the ranger my second. Love pets and taming them.
The thing that gets me is that more people didn't hate the human more. I'm a human everyday why would i ever play one in a fantasy setting????
The profession that attracts me the least is warrior, followed by guardian.
As for the races, I don't know. I'd like to try them all, but I will start with human and sylvari, because I've already found a way to connect the characters with their legacy from GW1. I'm still working on the details of human legacy for other races.
The least interesting would be the norn if they didn't have the ability to shapeshift into a giant humanoid raven. But since they do have this ability, I'll vote "None stands out."
Also, it's funny how some think asura are too cute, while I think the race looks creepy.
At best the asura are "cute" in the sense necromancer's minions are cute. They're creepy, but if you look at them long enough, creepy becomes one of their charms. And their brains are not cute either.
I voted Engineer. I am of the same faction who doesnt think Steam Punk'ish style game play doesnt belong in a fantasy MMO. Plus guns/bombs/turrents dont appeal to me. For Race I choose Char, I have never and nor will I ever play a big race, From the Firbolg in DAoC to the Tauren in WoW I always hated their sense of big that detracted from my gameplay, so hard to play a big race as a melee player.
Playing: GW2 Waiting on: TESO Next Flop: Planetside 2 Best MMO of all time: Asheron's Call - The first company to recreate AC will be the next greatest MMO.
Race: Charr, because they are hairy and ugly. Class: Guardian, it sounds like a tank type character to me, I'm not a fan of tanking and heavy armor. Note: I'm a girl.
azura, I never liked short races, at least to play as and guardian I don't know It just sounds the least appealing to me, never really like paladinish classes.
I cant say anything about least favorite but I think i would open my bottle of buttermilk ranch on that silvari, so that tells you a little something. O_O
The truth may be puzzling. It may take some work to grapple with. It may be counterintuitive. It may contradict deeply held prejudices. It may not be consonant with what we desperately want to be true. But our preferences do not determine what's true.
Anybody that voted Engineer, is a loser! Thief is the lamest class in the game. Oh wow I can stealth and steal creatures weapons and stuff.. So cool /facepalm
the Asura is my least favorite, but that's only up against the others. The plant race is second and close tho.
those are personnal opinions you know....

All this "Engineers don't belong in a fantasy MMO" talk seems rather silly. GW2 is not confined by the defintion of "fantasy MMO" and neither is the defintion of fantasy MMO confined to a lack of gunpower. I can think of three fantasy MMOs off the top of my head with gun and explosive technology in them: WoW, Rift and Atlantica. Not to mention the classic non-online RPGs with guns and grenades...

I was actually talking about it a few days ago with some friends, we all think the Engineer is not quite interesting, nor it does fit the world. I've seen a few pick the Elementalist, although it's one of my most expected professions, and by far my favourite in GW1: fits my favourite archetype (caster), and it can switch jobs on the fly, too!
As far as Races go, I don't have a least favourite for now. Maybe Sylvari? Feels a bit out of place in GW2, or maybe I'm just more familiarized with the other races...
Before I start, I have to say I was very excited when I saw this because it was exactly the opposite of the polls I made!
Alright, I have to say currently all races are lovable. . . for now. haha
Currently my least favorite class is a thief, mainly because I play Warrior/Guardians/Paladins and I foundd thieves sometimes to wanting to do the job of a warrior which in all instances I played in they just can't. Also, lately people have been complaining about thiefs not having stuns and for all those people who want more stuns/immobles for thiefs, think about it this way... you guys have initiatives. Their is no cooldown on your skills. Immoblization/stuns + no cooldown = ________.
Thief is the class that interests me the least and I doubt that I will ever roll one.
The Sylvari are the race that have the least amount of appeal to me, and if it wasn't for each race having their own storyline I wouldn't ever play one.
I would say necro, but with no chance to find out how it really plays yet, I'm scared to, since it might end up becoming my favorite class or something. As for race, the Sylvari don't really appeal at the moment.
I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy, accompanied by an educational system which would be oriented toward social goals.
I like Charr, but something about their movement just bugs me. I can't see myself playing them for a prolonged period of time. The thief, while I might roll one because I'm an altaholic, the mechanics just aren't the most interesting for me. Drifting towards Guardians / Eles / Mesmers for my first pass at the game.
I'm least likely to play Charr or a Necromancer, but that doesn't mean I think there is anything wrong with them, they just aren't my personal style.
I think there is some resistance to Engineer, because some of us still don't like the encrouchment of mechanical technology into the Fantasy MMO genre, but I like what they can do and how they do it, so if I can overcome the aesthetic resistance, I know it's a class I would likely enjoy playing.
I typically want nothing to do with the "little" races in MMOs, but there is something about Asura that means I might make an exception for GW2, but I still prefer Human, Sylvari and Norn by a healthy margin over the other two races.
I still have a feeling that at some point, I will have played all the classes and all the races at least once, but for now I'm trying to narrow down my top choices for launch, rather than think further down the road.
Wow. I was ready to accuse the denizens here of being Space Marine wannabes due to putting the most votes into the most visually exotic and strange race (the Charr). Really, absolute xenophobia is something I've come to expect of gamers - who tend to hate minor ethnicities, gay people, disabled people, ugly people, people of strange cultures, anything alien to them, and/or anything that takes them out of their comfort zone.
And hey, I'm usually right, that's often completely true of gamers. What a closed-minded bunch gamers usually are.
But not this time. And y'know what? Colour me honestly impressed. It's nice to see a lack of that, because I tend to get so tired of it, really. I mean, half the time I read what gamers think and I just roll my eyes, sigh to myself, and think "Let's just slap these guys in a suit of power armour and give them hordes of orks to deal violently with already, it's the only way they'll be truly happy." because that's completely fitting. Anti-intellectualism is actually frequently an -ism for gamers.
Any divigation from that is a genuine delight for me, so whilst this may seem like strange praise - it is indeed praise. Open-minded gamers are a supremely rare breed and very hard to come by.
My picks would have to be charr/elementalist Have no interest playing the charr as a race. As for the elementalist I have played mage type classes for to long i would like to change up a bit and try something like engineer or thief havent decided on what race though. (^0^)/

Engineer and Norn. I don't like classes that make things go "boom" in the Fantasy genre, nor do I like two races that look just like Humans.
Funny you should ask.

That's actually a character skin. You can be either a leaf-like sylvari or a tree-bark-like sylvari
I know that. I'm just pointing out that you don't have to be covered in leaves all the time.

Mine would probably be Charr & Thief.
