Do i need to buy a gamecard first?

I've recieved SWTOR for xmas :d
On the box it says 30 days free, but on the website it says i need to make a subscription first?
I heard different people say you can play without subscription?

Yes you have to either add your subscription plan to a credit card (which you can cancel before you get billed at the end of the 30 days) or buy a time card and add that as your subscription plan
You have to use a credit card to setup a subscription, or you need to get a game time card and use it in order to play. If you setup a subscription, and you're not going to play past the first thirty days, you can cancel your subscription before the renewal date.

wow that sucks, cuz its xmas now and all the store's are closed and i do not have a creditcard (nor do my parents)

i started to google some online gametime card vendors then realized that you would need a cc to purchase the item which you say you dont have
curious where you think you might have been able to purchase a gametime card on christmas without a cc?
Well it's possible, but i have to wait till tommorow, i need my parents Ideal (if you know what that is)
Actually Origins (EA store) offers some local internet payment option. In the netherlands this is called Ideal, with allows me to pay using online banking and they instantly get the money. Might be worth checking out especially if such a system exist in your country.
