I used to play CoH and unfortunately playing GW has made me realize one of the key things about CoH that I liked as far as overall game mechanics.

Not having EVERY map instanced. I liked being able to just pop in, run around the cities (which to my mind would be the equivalent of overland maps in other games) beating up random villains and running into other players doing their thing. Sometimes I'd see someone in over their head and I'd jump in and use a few powers that would help but not siphon any exp (using taunt or lobbing a web grenade for instance). Made some good friends that way. You can't do that in GW and when you go into towns you can't talk since the main chat is literally flooded with people wanting to sell/buy/looking for group messages.

At least the game is free to play once you buy it since as it stands I so would not pay for it if that weren't the case.

Please note I'm not saying the game sucks or anything like that and for what it's worth I'm still playing. Just stating an opinion about the instancing of every map. That's all. I also know it's not technically an MMO according to the devs so don't bother coming back with any of thsoe arguments.

I wish to God I didn't know now; the things I didn't know then.

If you had bothered to play the game for a few minutes you would've noticed the checked boxes for the different chat filters that you could "uncheck" so that well.....what do you know.....all i see is the main chat window because I filtered the rest of the chat out.  At least play the game for a few hours so you can actually see what the game has to offer...and make a decent assessment....instead of something anyone could've posted that had half a brain

I have found it difficult to find people to group with on Guild Wars.  Also, i end up soloing most of the time when completing quests because of the instances.  While I like the idea of instancing I don't think it is all that effective.
