Boy, if I'm reading this right, there hasn't been a post in this forum for a very, very long time.
Well, the 1.19 patch came out, and chaos ensued. Massive framerate drops in just about everyone's machines, flying became impossible for most, and a resounding cry of WTF!? echo'd across the land.
Not long afterwards a new patch came out; I noticed a slight performance improvment on my machine but went ahead with a relatively massive upgrade anyway. From 1.4 to 2.1 Ghz, from 512 megs DDR to 1.5 Gigs of DDR.
My framerates, which have always been (in the past) between 20-30 in the past in combat zones, went from the 10-16 I had been experiencing back up to 20-30, which made me happy. Although the processor is the most important part of the PC when WW2 Online is concerned, the increase in RAM helped a LOT. Now, when I enter a battle zone, my framerate stays smooth as things load in without using up too much of my memory. This has resulted in a serious drop in lag, when even before the 1.19 patch I'd be at risk of getting killed while in the middle of a lag spike.
What bugged me the most was people whining about going from 100+ fps down to 60 fps or so...guys, I play the game consistantly and extremely proficiently at 19-35 FPS, so quit complaining. Just because your cpu's performance has dropped considerably, don't forget it did so as a price for the enhanced graphics we have now...more detail to units and tanks, more emmersive sounds (although they still have to fix a sound bug...I really don't think I should hear a rifle shot over my engine at 1000m in the sky), and they are working on squeezing performance boosts out of the current engine!
Don't give up on the game, the allied forces need you...it's time we catch up to the Axis in wins; they've had free reign, mostly, over the map since practically day one (or so I've been told). Although we're winning this map, we can't let up at any time.
Anyone who is reading this and considering joining the game, go Allied first to learn the game...new players get a lot more support out of the Allied side than Axis for the most part.
Now that I'm through with my words of wisdom and corny motivational speech, I think I'll stop writing now.
What do you MEAN we're out of ammo!? What the heck am I supposed to do now, use harsh language!?

Or you might experience what so many other new Allied player has done. Been accused to be a axis spy. Some even considered to quit playing until the tried the Axis side. Then did they decide to continue play anyway.
Besides your last remark was it a good post Alamandorius.
Eh, it's just what I noticed from first hand experience. I'm not saying ALL axis players ignore newbies; there are way to many people to make a statement like that. It's just that I noticed that newbies have a harder time with axis.
The equipment on the allied side is easier to learn with, too, because the aiming optics are easier to use in tanks and anti-tank guns.

I don't know about that. Some might agree with you, and some don't. What is important is that more people come and try out this extraordinary game.
And it is always more fun to play on the dark side, don't you say.
Nice try sport.
I don't know what is your problem. But I and the members of my squad (some 100 regular players) don't have the problem you are talking about. And mind you, I play on a more then three years old Mac (2x1GHz cpu) which isn't the optimum machine for computergames.
Sure, the release of v1.19.0 had some issues, which is always the issue with major patches. And 1.19.0 was proberbly the biggest patch in WWII Online history. But CRS fixed the problems a few days later. v1.19.3 gives me even a slightly better playing experience then v1.18.4 did.
Go somewhere else and tell your fairy-tale.
Wow, talk about hostility.
Just because it doesn't happen for you, or 100 people, doesn't mean it didn't happen to other people...the game is huge, with thousands of players with differing computer setups. Some people didn't experience a problem, but I heard a lot of others complaining about it. They may have fixed it completely by now; that's why, if you read my post carefully, I was encouraging others not to be discouraged because CRS WAS Working on it, and they were working on ways to squeeze performance out of the engine.
Don't know what your problem is. If you feel you need to attack someone, why not go in-game and shoot something rather than come here and try to make someone feel bad or upset. Not everyone experienced the same thing. Some people lucked out...I forgot to cover that part, so this situation is partially my fault.

ehhh, seems to me the hostility is more aptly displayed by the fellow who is dedicated to convincing as many people as possible to not even try the game. He insists that most players can't even play the game anymore because performance is so poor. If you grab a random bunch of 100 players and find thta maybe 5 of them have serious issues and 95 don't, you can infer that it is most likely that the players, through poor care of their systems, or through inability or refusal to upgrade, are causing these problems, not the software.
If the code was inherantly poor then all players would have the issues. We all play the same game, writen in the same language, with the same code.
Tell you what though, my buddies 500mhz P3 with 128mb of ram and a geforce 2 can't run doom 3 at 1600x1200 with 4xAA so obviously THAT game sucks balls.
Geesh! The nerve of gaming companies, pushing their games forward with new features and new graphics....SOME PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it still sucks...more proof....read what others have already wrote about it, yes there are a couple that will say everything is fine with this game, lol..(check the payrolls) but its certainly not worth playing...
Dont trust this unhappy Troll ^ ^
The best thing any interested person can do is try it out as nothing ventured is nothing gained.
There is a lot to be gained in adventuring with this game!
wow I didnt even know anyone posted here
S! Allies
Battleground Europe (World War II online) is still one of the very best games I have ever played and I'm a pretty hard-core gamer.
I been playing WWIIOL since late in 2001 off and on but I keep on coming back. Just recently signed up again a few weeks ago and I am having an absolute blast playing this game, I mean you can literally stay on this game for days at a time without sleep its so dang good. I have probably played 100 different PC games since 2004 or so and WWIIOL is by far the best I have ever played.
