Looking for a good MMORPG with a free-5 dollar monthly fee

XeximaXexima Member UncommonPosts: 2,698

Well... yeah, the topic basically says it all, I'm looking for a good MMORPG that doesn't have an expensive monthly fee [to me expensive is 10-20 bucks a month] So if u know of one please tell me. I've been playing guild wars for a few months now and kinda got bored of that, so now i need another game to waste my time one. image

The only game I'm aware of that costs $5 a month is The Realm Online (www.realmserver.com).  It's one of the first graphical games, so don't expect a lot.

Don't you mean suckscape? Runescape just sucks if you want a free mmorpg play something like kalonline(www.kalonline.com)

This would almost be another annoying "give me a free game" thread and everyone would refer him to the sticky at the top of the forum except luckily he threw in the fact he'll pay $5!

5 Bucks a month! I can give you a game that is 5 dollors a year! Its called There and it is a user built world or Virtual World. There is 90% user created and there is something always going on. Weather it be a race or a fashion show, there are always people in world.

On avrage people bring in over 1,000 new items every day. These items are used in projects or even beach get aways. Another thing is you can make real life money in There. The designing community is growing more then ever and when you design you get Tbucks.

People buy those Tbucks from you for real world currency. I have a friend who makes a living off of designing in There and sells 85% of his earnings each week. There is more then a game and There is what you make it to be.

There he goes advertising his crappy game again. I won't flame you too badly this time though because last time I got a temporary ban for it.

I bet it is... You've been dreaming about my return for weeks now, havn't you? Oh and what game? I didn't advertise a game I advertised a user built world. You'd be suprised what has been going on in There. A company called Rivers Run Red is intrested in bringing real world fashions into There...

    New, isn't it?

Well, short of looking through the many "free MMORPG" topics, you know effort is always nice . . . .

    Rubies of Eventide at www.eventide.net

Of course, if you opt to put forth effort, some games have an affiliate/reseller program - one being Horizons (so $ 5/month and 8 subscribers using your reseller number meets your $$ criteria).

    There is another one: Planeshift

And if you want, you can help them develope it further!

THe best free mmorpg by far is StarPortGE, it has changed lots the past few months (now there is a never-ending game,...).

Try it out, you'll be suprised.

There is an old saying, "you get what you pay for."  If you want a game that will cost $5 a month, you will get exactly what you pay for.  Dont expect to be something you like EQ2 or WoW with constant updates and decent servers.

Amazing someone would think $15 a month is high.  If you were to take a month worth of time and saw a two hour for a month consecutively it would cost you nearly $2000.  To me $15 a month is a bargain for entertainment.

Better yet if you dont want avoid those monthy fees maybe MMOGs arent for you.  Try playing single player RPGs.

Have played: CoH, DDO EQ2, FFXI, L2, HZ, SoR, and WW2 online

*cough* typical runscapian. Always flaming, never listining. Anyway, I would either try Illutia which is free (www.illutia.com) or, go out and buy GW. Even though alot of people flame it saying its not a "true" MMORPG I still love it. Good luck image

Yay, Joel's back to advertise his virtual chatroom!

As for the last comment: Wow real world fashions in There! Holy crap I can't contain myself!

Has anyone said Anarchy Online yet? ( http://anarchyonline.com )

It is a AAA title, no cost for the base client and no monthly fee.  You only pay if you want the expansions.  There is in-game advertising but it is very non-intrusive.

It has a mix between a Sci-Fi and Fantasy theme.  I am biased for reasons, but it is worth checking out.
