Having a Kraken good time - Enjoy!

According to the video, the Kraken has nearly a million hit points and can smash entire armadas with impunity. The video shows a fleet trying to take on the fearsome underwater world boss, but the players are only able to make a dent for all their efforts.

    That looks neat.  Interesting that such a sandbox decided to include so much naval gameplay...  How did they fit all this into one game??

    They have balls to make it so that players have to man cannons instead of everyone getting their own ship.  I really like that!!

    Looked at a few of the videos up.

     

    Really nice looking graphics. They should of been shooting that damn Kracken, instead it was simply swatting them. Probably gonna be like the Sleeper in EQ, and require half the server if someone actually wants to kill it. Seeing as this is supposed to be sandbox, maybe it will eat folks gear, and when it is killed, it is like a mini lottery when gutted.

     

    The enviorment is simply awesome, as it reminds me of FF 13. The cat girl got down on all 4 to run.

     

    The only negative I could give those videos would be that damn sound that seems like something from Sonic the Hedgehog when he loots the coins. They should give gamers  a way to turn that sound off......YIKES!!!!!!

     

    Hopefully for the good sandbox fans, on this site, the game turns out as you wish. Thanks for linking video.

    Asking Devs to make AAA sandbox titles is like trying to get fine dining on a McDonalds dollar menu budget.

    Actually naval gameplay does have quite a big purpose, namely exploration.

    Since game allows to BUILD anywhere on ocean islands. ALSO you need to transport resources to the third continent if you want to colonize there. Also trading will most likely happen through naval stuff too. Also you can steal the stuff that is being transported. Also being a pirate/criminal is a feasible way of playing.


    Add that all up.

    Considering player-created factions and nations on third continent and the need for some resources to be transfered via ships, the opposing player countries and factions might want to cut off your supply line for example to win the war.
    Or some smart guild sets up a base in some island and starts attacking player ships to get the stuff and sell it to other players.

    ANd so on. Potential is huge and the whole naval system is NOT just "tacked on" or added. Its quite integral part of gameplay.
