This site. I was hoping the threads on MMORPG would consist of helpful tips and advice about SWToR AC builds etc. Sadly it's filled posts from people who haven't played or don't like the game and bash it for some sick satisfaction instead of just moving on like any normal person would do. . Not sure why people waste there time. So I deleted this site off my bookmarks. I've found my game for the next few years. Maybe I will look in from time to rime to see if the mods finally clean this place up. Right now the forums are a cesspool of negativity and drama and serve no usefull purpose. It's sad because there are some well written and helpful articles on this site. I hope they get their act together.

Generally game specific character builds and strats can be found on dedicated Fan sites for the game you enjoy playing.
The advantage of 3rd party sites such as this one, is that we are allowed, to a far larger extent, to compare with and mention other games unlike in official forums.
For builds and more in-depth discussion contained within the game itself, you are better off visiting a dedicated fansite, wiki or the official forum.

Sadly, the whole world is fraught with conflct and opposing desires. MMORPG.com just mirrors that fact. In addiion, the anonimity of the internet causes people to be louder with their views than otherwise.
For example, if you went on the SWTOR forums and posted your opinion that cross server WZ's should never be implemented. There will be someone who plays the game who totally disagree's with you and thinks your stupid.
Not to mention the fact that Bioware themselves is controlling everything and could do whatever, whenever they wanted. So you have 3 different parties possibly with different desires about what something 'should be'.
This site is the same... although with different scope. Most of the conversation is centered around whether or not you like a game because of what it is or isnt.

It is very hard to have a positive conversation about anything around here without someone trolling and screwing it all up. Still, it does happen sometimes even here... which is really the only reason I stick around. For every 1000 negative troll posts, there is one that is genuinely worth reading.
The Devs. do a more than effective job at moderating these forums. (more than I like sometimes)
. But it sounds like to me you want to repress everyone who has a different opinion than yours. Sorry that opinions on games you like is not all bunnies and roses. I will save you some time, you won't find a place on the web or in real life that will be all wonderful and fabulous. Especially if something is actually bad.
Swtor has a forum. Its at www.swtor.com.
In fact they have several different forums. Why are you griping about no character builds or hints or tips being posted here when the place for it is there. They have whole forums dedicated to that stuff.
So you're going to rage quit mmorpg.com because why? Because you didnt actually go to the place dedicated to exactly that sort of thing? Um....okay then.

I would agree with the OP that most forums here are nothing more than rants, negativity, senseless banter and fanboi'ism or trolling. Thats why my post count is so low b/c in reality there is really NEVER anything worth responding to...so I come, read, get my daily giggle, and move on to actually playing my mmo of the moment

I tried this for a while too.. But then you look around and notice that this is what the internet has become period.. There is no hiding.. No running.. When you open that browser, you click accept on the terms and agreements that includes belly flopping into tons of feces as you look for whats important to you and information that may interest you..
No matter what forum you run to, you will meet these and people like these people everywhere..

This site will give you REAL OPINIONS without the crap devs will give you on the back of the box or on their web site. In many cases its them against us !
This site will give you the good and bad. The real bad can often show just how mad someone is about an mmo, and feel as if the player has been taken in his own mind. Look at it this way, if 40 players are so mad that they say un true things, would you think the game could still be good ?
This site will give release dates from web seachers.
This site will give bata invites from web searchers.
This site will refer players to new info.
This site can be fun, and a pass time as players are inbetween games.

There's a big difference between complaining about a game that you love and complaining about a game that you don't like and most of the posters on this site fall into the second category.
They never liked (insert game here) at all and make it a point to criticise (insert game here) at any opportunity.
In ye olden days we were able to shout down these asshats with some choice words, but thats not the case anymore so once you're sick of all the BS you leave the site, as the OP has. It's funny that increased forum moderation around here has done nothing but force the good posters to walk away...
Take your post for example - it's plagued with things that at one time would of had people sitting you down an explaining why saying this site is not for kids is ________, really ________, when you consider that they have forums for hello kitty online and free realms, but we can't do that anymore we have to play nice nice, so you can continue to post those ________ things to your hearts content and the rest of us can walk away or take a warning and get our offending threads deleted.
No...just no. According to his website no MMO is worth playing because there will always be a few threads of someone moaning about how terrible the game is, it didn't used to be like that. Go onto the SWTOR forum, apparently the game is completely awful, if I read those threads I wouldn't have gotten the game, yet I did.
And Guess what, the game isn't completely terrible, it's quite fun, ok sure the RPG side doesn't match the amazing stoyline BioWare usually produce like e.g. Mass Effect. But the storyline isn't completely "pathetic" and there isn't a population problem since I haven't had trouble grouping, and also It's MMORPG.com, not HarcoreMMORPGers.com.
