Need a new game

Alright ladies and gentlemen, I am submitting myself to your collective wisdom to help me ease my extrodinary boredom. I play WoW, I've played WoW for a very long time, and now I dont want to anymore as I feel like I have won. I need suggestions on which MMORPGs might be good for me, here's a quick overview of what I like.

I do like to solo (I know this is a touchy subject, but bare with me) and I like to be able to group as well. I like soloing more then grouping, but I like the option available and plausable due to the population.

I like a bit of a challenge, but I dont care for PvP all that much. As a side note I love Battlefield 1942 and BF2, but those are different PvP games, and thats how I like my PvP. The WoW PvP seems boring, even with Battlegrounds, and all people are after is faction equipment so all characters are generally the same (Debatably, of course).

I like to have something new to do. In WoW once you hit 60 you grind for gear or make an alt.... whoopdy doo.

I like all genres. I tried EVE out for a while and didnt like it due to the fact that you dont "level" in the traditional sense. I like doing quests and gaining XP, thats my favorite part to WoW.

I think that about sums it up, Thank you in advance for your help.

This is actually a random occurrence.

You sound like you would enjoy Dark age of camelot. It has a good grind, plenty of quests and some of the best pvp at later levels (and also in the middle levels) in any "swords and fairys" mmo I have played.

Great, thanks! I am currently downloading the trial now. Any one else have any further suggestions?

    /Shameful bump.

I've now tried DAoC and am not too impressed. I've heard that the PvP is what kinda makes the game, is that true?

Any other MMO suggestions would be appreciated

For PvP try Shadowbane this has levels and the PvP is great, not sure about quests though as i have yet to get a good few hours to really try to the game. Stick with it though because initial impressions will be negative (like my very first minute ingame.)

Also if you like your FPS games i would give Guild Wars a try, it is a normal MMORPG but it has an fps feel to the pvp where your guild goes against other guilds and the strategies used. Very similar to Battlefield 2 in that respect as you don't want to have a squad of 6 all going assault to try and cap a flag. The pvp is arena based and is very fast paced so once again you will feel right at home here.

Alternatively do the trial for planetside as this is a MMOFPS game which is kind of like a cross between UT and BF but on a larger scale. There isn't levels here but you have to earn certificates to use all the weapons and is generally a great blast for the FPS fan.

If you don't want a PvP game but you want to gain levels and do quests, then go with Everquest 2. The name does the game justice but still my lawsuite isn't going well with them :(.

I just recently did the same, throwing myself on the mercy of mmorpg.com.  I, too, was less than impressed with DAOC.  Try EQ2.  They're currently running a free trial as well.  So far, I'm enjoying it a lot more than DAOC (I plan on getting the full version this weekend).  Hope this helps.
