With the amazing success of Star Wars: The Old Republic, players are often looking for direction on how to play their favorite classes. Today, MMORPG.com is pleased to present our Marauder Player Guide. Check it out!
Marauders are a user-intensive class that really bring the pain when wielded in the right hands. They aren't as straightforward as some of the game's other classes, but if you take the time to master this class you'll find it to be a very rewarding experience. However, the major disadvantage to playing a Marauder is the lack of flexibility afforded to other Advanced Classes. Sure, you can pick from a number of different ways to kill things, but if you feel like you might want to alternate between tanking and doing damage, you might want to look at the Sith Juggernaut instead.

More guides mmorpg.com. It's about time! Enjoyed this one Mike. Even though you are Sith and my mortal enemy.
I'll be playing some Republic stuff once I go through a couple of Sith characters. Better believe it! I want to do an all trooper squad.
Awesome, I agree more guides.
This is the best guide I've seen for Marauder!!! Clean presentation, thought out layout, easy to read AND understanding. GOOD JOB!!!! This is the standard in which guides should be written with.
Ive been playing a Marauder since my first beta, and I definetly liked the guide. Marauder is most assuredly a user-heavy kind of class. My entire keyboard is filled with hotkeys. That said, I hate talking about crap like "skill" because there are too many variables. What I would say is that to get the most out of a marauder you have to put in effort to figure it out. Although I am borderline outraged that a Juggernaught can do even an approachable amount of damage compared to me. Marauder = DPS only. Jugg = Tank/DPS/Never die. I dont know why TOR has the holy trinity if any class can do any role except the melee DPS classes.
I've noticed that as well its like why did I bother to even roll marauder. Between that and the fact that now the pvp is all premade 50's and I'm lvl 37 because I have to actually work a job live a real life etc I'm done with the pvp til they separate the 50's from the rest of us. Its bad enough that a 50 full spec is unkillable to lower lvls but put two 4 man premades together on the other side of these 50s and the pvp is borked beyond belief right now. Side note there is no such thing as "skill" in a game that is target tab, lvl based and gear based. Within a month everyone just finds the min max builds and layouts for move order and we run around playing grab ass basically. The first few weeks of the pvp was great when most matches had at most a few 50's on each side, at this point its nothing but premade 50's groups so again complete waste of time to pvp if you're anything other than that. I didn't feel this way til the last week when the second wave of people rushed to 50. Why they ever thought putting the full spec 50s with the rest of us was a good idea I will never know.
Yeah, I want the 50s split off pretty badly. I am playing a couple of toons so not 50 yet. The WZ are pretty brutual playing against 50s in pvp gear.
Its really hurting the game for me right now. By nature I'm a pvper but right now thats a total waste so now I've gone from doing a few stories, a couple space missions and then pvping for a bit to just stories and space. As a pvper this really pisses me off but I've watched 50's ignore me as they mitigate every bit of my dps so yeah total waste. I have zero idea why bioware is dragging their feet on this when everyone I talk to says the same thing.
The guide is fine, the specs are aweful. In carnage you wanna get 15% crit on vicious not 33 points, nor 5 points in anni ...
Same goes for the other 3 specs also aweful. But rest is fine really.
Why would I want 15% crit on Vicious Slash (I assume you mean the T2 talent in Rage) when you don't use Vicious Slash at all once you acquire Massacre?
5 points in Anni is great. Enraged Slash is amazing for keeping your damage going. It effectively reduces the cost of Massacre to 2 (from 3). It'll still cost you 3 to execute the ability but you are refunded 1 Rage immediately. Keep in mind that these builds are geared towards PvE, which is why there are 2 points also spent on Quick Recovery. This reduces the rage cost of Sweeping Slash to 1 -- which makes for some great cheap and fast AOE spam!
