I'm loving the game and will be playing a long time. This agressive update schedule is going to make it more and more fun as time goes on!

The more people complain about a game, the more succesfull it tends to be. As a developer having lots of people hating your product is a good sign. Warcraft is proof of this. For every one person hateing something you can bet your bottom dollar there is ten people with a good attitude and loving it. :)

It's when no one talks, that's when you worry.

On a side note I have been a fan of this site for some time. Some of you guys however need to just change your attitude, start loving the things that are being made. SWTOR is an astounding immersive game and your lucky to have such a great company like bioware are attached to it.

The only person hate really affects is yourself.

This game is the biggest pile of trash ever!  The servers will dwindle down to 3 in 6 months.  Then the layoffs will come and half of bioware will be sold off.  After that we'll see bioware employees in the soup kitchen line!  And bioware/EA employees also eat baby dingos for dinner.

(PS...Whoever said they were quiting due to server lag must be on some serious drugs.  I haven't had even the tiniest ounce of server lag and I play about 4-8hours a day.  Buy a better PC)

The Future of SWTOR? Easy to predict -> it will become F2P at the end of 2012.

This is just plain stupid. They run daoc and warhammer guess what neither game is free 2 play. predicting that bioware/ea will go free 2 play is silly

that and the fact that they have gained players in the first month not actually lost most . Sorry fail troll.

That said tors future is bright . U dont lke game fine but saying it will go free 2p lay by end of 2012 is naive and stupid.

    Hey MMORPG.com

Why don't you guys write an Article about a different Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game.

This is not "getting absurd", its one hundred percent achieved absurdity levels.

    Write, about, a, different, game.

I know its hard to beleive this, but most people don't play SWTOR and WOW. There are "other" games in the universe. We had 30 people commited to play SWTOR before beta began. That number dwindled to 19 by launch time because it was so WOW like. Those who stayed on to play it were people who liked WOW and Rift. But the majority or at least half of the 30 who started as SWTOR fans went back to playing non MMO's. Hard to believe I know.

So its now non-MMORPG players aren't happy playing an MMORPG and left? Color me not shocked.

I'm also in a clan thats somewhat the same as his and the original members came from a mmorpg but when they quit that old one the members split off to make sub branches of the clan. Some have their own vent but when a new game releases a whole lot of players from every branch pool to the new game to try it out with the other members. Personally the folks from my clan are still playing SW:TOR, they are about 30 still but they've just begun to reach endgame so i'll see where that takes them.

The single player games people play in our clan are usually just time spent waiting on the next MMO and if his clan quit SW:TOR that doesn't mean they arent mmorpg players, it just means they got bored of it.

If you left the game why are you posting here, do you have some special need for attention that you are not getting at home? If you want pandas you know where to go, if you want to look at tiny dots on a black screen you know where to go, if you want clunky land battles and a game that is nothing like the great tv show you know where to go, if you want a korean grind fest you know where to go, if you want to play 20 great lvls and the rest of the game is crap you know where to go, and on and on, SWTOR players want a great story with fun combat , great voice overs and that immersive star wars world-yea baby

happy they are doing lots of updates.  much like rift, it's a good idea to differentiate yourself by being the guys who put out lots of updates for free, fast.

now to do something to address the imbalance betweenrepublic and empire players right guys?

RIP Ribbitribbitt you are missed, kid.

I don't feel like a sucker because I bought the CE. In fact, even the "Extended" circle of people I know in game (new guildmates, friends of my friends, etc), no one is cancelling...

thats great, but its easy to counter that by saying, that almost the entire SWTOR group on my ventrillo server cancelled last night. 15 out of 19. 2 weren't online and the other 2 had 3 month subs.

Then let me counter your counter by pointing out that not a single member of the 437 player guild I belong to on The Jekk Jekk Tarr [spelling?] server has cancelled.

  • meccariellomeccariello Member Posts: 50

i play it, i like it. i dont care if YOU cancelled. maybe you are too young to appreciate the game. its not for 12 year olds. its a little more sophisticated than just kill and move to next mission.

funny how few actually have explored all the stuff to do and just power level to 50 and have no clue what else is out there.

i am no fan boy. i was hugely skeptical of this game after being burned by star wars galaxies. i am surprised and happy to pay my $15 a month

How is your claim of high retention, any different, good or bad from someone else?  Does that mean you follow your own discription of others?

We have less people playing in our guild, but i have only seen one guy saying he probably was quitting...Doesn't mean others aren't, but he also was known as the 'whiney jedi' in SWG...

So my guild, play time is way down, but only one guy that has mentioned quitting before he had to pay his first month...Lot of complaining about content, but that comes with anything, I am dissatisfied myself, but I will be playing longer.

Just to chime in here... I'm loving this like I haven't loved a game since EQ.  Most of my guild is max level but I'm taking my time at 40 on my main and looking forward to endgame and rolling about 4 other classes.  Love the atmosphere, love the story.  Plenty to do if you don't spacebar through the game.

  • scabbedangelscabbedangel Member UncommonPosts: 117

I'd just like to thank all the people who are posting that they cancelled and why. It's good to hear reviews from both sides of the fence.

You may stop playing, but that doesnt make your opinion any less valid than anyone elses.

first off i wanna say hats off to  bioware for a great game.

to the people who are but hert by bugs and the high rez textures that arnt in game rember this is a new mmo if u cant handle bugs or some features not being in  a new game then u probly should go back to what ever polished game u was playing and forget about playing new mmos when they come out but wait 3-6 years till the bugs have been fixed.

class's are for the most part balenced for what there intended role is ment to do.

no game to date has gotten class balence perfect i dont know why people think its gonna be any differnt here.

only thing i dont like about tor is the space combat its a joke but thankfully i dont have to play it.

me and my 5 guild strong allaince is enjoying this game for what it is and we boot the whiners there is no since in it.

i see people beggin  for dps meters when the nightmare modes are being cleared allready with out the addons the fights dont offer much of a challenge compaired to say wow wich is why i dont unsubb wow becouse its still best at pve.

while pvp is a second thought in this story mmo its the best pvp ive seen in a long time but again people need to rember its a second thought and not there main focus.

i have a older pc with a good internet connection i put this game on med settings and get lil to no lag so if your laggin its on your end if ur using a old pc.

even then its a fresh game and its not optimized for every system yet.

over all people need to stop the  whining  give it a year this game will be a gem u cant expect it to be picture purfect games do  take time  to code if u cant handle bugs  then no new mmo will make u happy.

With lacking guild functionality, the laughable space combat, useless Legacy system, some poorly done UI pieces (Galactic Exchange, I'm looking at you), endgame that's sorely lacking in both PvE and PvP, and a lot of bugs, it's just another game released before it was ready.

Isn't that the normal line here....

Great read, im excited for the future and so is my guild :) Easily 90 people who do not regret the purchase nor are we quitting. Granted, this wont mean much on a site such as this due to the high volume of liars haters and yes fanboys. Yes, i do know that my statement could be taken as a lie/fanboy statement as well but i for one do not really care what the rest of you think, im just trying to balance the negativity with some positive remarks, wich according to someone you never met, is speaking the truth. Server population is booming and people everywhere even in the lowbie areas here in the EU, so im quite happy :)

I do hope that content and fixes keeps rolling out at a steady pace since i do know that many players of today cant spell "patience".

Anyway, keep up the good work!
