When I picked my character there was no profession type to be picked?.

If you start a new character you start with all 6 basic professions already learned so you can do all novice quests in Mos Eisley. You dont choose to be scout, dancer, brawler etc. anymore.  If you dont want to do certain quests just hit CTRL-S and delete some of the novice professions .. however, unless you NEED skillpoints because you reached your 250 point limit there is no reason to unlearn those novice professions just yet.

If you dont have the mails with the pilot trainer locations anymore use this (from pilot FAQ  http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=pilot&message.id=61751 ) :

The pilot profession is composed of three different factions, each of which has three available squadrons to join:

    1. Rebel: Recruiter Location: J'pai Brek (-5072, -2343) Tyrena, Corellia
      • Akron's Havok Squad: Captain Kreezo, Tyrena, Corellia (-5177, -2281)
      • Vortex Squadron: V3-FX {droid} (right across the bridge) Moenia, Naboo
      • Crimson Phoenix Squadron: Commander Da'la Socuna (back room of the cantina) Mos Espa Tatooine
    2. Imperial: Recruiter Location: Commander Landau (-5516,4403) Theed, Naboo
      • Inquisition: Lt. Barn Sinkko, Kadaara, Naboo (5204, 6728)
      • Storm Squadron: Lt. Akal Colzet, Bestine, Tatooine (1110, -3514)
Note: this is widely considered the hardest pilot squad in the game.
      • Black Epsilon: Hakasha Sireen, Imp Outpost, Talus (-2183, 2259)
    3. Freelancer: Recruiter Location: Gil Burtin (-1174, -3647) Bestine, Tatooine
      • Smuggler Alliance: Dravis, Mos Eisley, Tatooine, Back room of cantina (3429,-4788)
Note: this squad is lightly Rebel-aligned. Your final mission will be against an Imperial Corvette.
      • RSF Squadron: Captain Dinge, Theed Naboo (-5497,4575)
Note: this squad is heavily Imperial-aligned. RSF pilots can't hurt Imperial ships and your final mission will be against a Rebel Corvette.
      • Corsec Squadron: Sergeant Rhea, Coronet Corellia (-275,4730)
Note: this squad is true neutral. On your final mission, you may choose to destroy either a Rebel or Imperial Corvette.

If you don't have one already, your first squadron trainer will provide you with a starter ship (though some trainers may need more prodding than others). These ships will have all the basic parts you need to complete your first missions, but you may wish to buy others from the bazaar or your local shipwright. To load up these new parts, simply open up the "Manage" screen from the starport terminals where your starter ship is parked and you'll be able to swap parts in and out.
    ----------------------

A word of warning .. Storm Squadron is NOT easy.

    Have fun

Ask on Bria galaxy forum what the PvP and GCW channel for Bria is. Check the event announcements for Bria on the official forum. GCW today is centered on attacking or defending PvP bases to switch the control of certain planets from rebel to imperial side and back.  You wont find them in Theed or between Anchorhead and Bestinde like in 2003.

To know which base is being fought over every day you have to get your ear into these chat channels or the relevant guilds geared for PvP fighting. Check the guild sticky post on top of the Bria galaxy forum to find such a guild.

You could also check the GCW forum on the official SWG homepage and ask people where to start PvPing the GCW on Bria.

Bria is the most overcrowded of all servers ... there is got to be some PvP going on. Bria is ALSO infamous for being hard on new players .. dont expect the people there to help you much. Check the "Which server are you playing on" thread here in the species and skills section of THIS forum here .. you will find some people playing on Bria. You can ask them.

    Have fun
