So the last time I played Rift just before SWTOR came out, I went to Ember Isles on my new 50 and got wtfpwned by a mob that was standing around the entry portal. First, I laughed. Then I gtfo there.
I am thinking about coming back to Rift. Is there any kind of progression guide for new 50s? I'm not into raiding. I didn't do any raiding or dungeons once I hit 50 and unsubbed shortly after with a brief return. What do I need to be prepared for the new zone - Ember Isles?

i just was ther im in rank 6 pvp gear and mobs are pretty easy. id say tier 2 dungeon gear you would be ok. progression wise it goes random lvl 50 dungeon tuer one dungeon tier 2 dungeon tier 1 rift raids tier 1 raids then t2 raids.. last i remember hearing though in 1.7 they are retooling the progression so it may all change soon
They are boosting all 45+ gear in patch 1.7 so that is going to help, Tier 1 dungeons no longer exist either tey have all bee merged to tier 2 dungeons from what i could tell.Your progression will pretty much be do Tier 2's/chronicles and then try heading to Ember Isle, all depends on how strong the 45+ gear boost is.
Ember is a bit of a step up from shimmer and Still. If you don't run any dungeons it's best to duo the Ember content. You can always look at getting the epic planar gear as a differnet gearing up option, the tier 2 stuff should be more than enough.
