Koreas reason for not wanting RMT in D3 is not a pure one  :)  I'll let people figure it out.

This whole RMAH thing started to become funny for me, nowadays i watch all those D3 discusions for giggles (it is sad that i used to wait day one release date to purchase this junk).

RMAH, not being primary reason, is a huge one that turned me off this game.

However, primary reason that shoo-ed me away is statement of Jay Wilson (if that is name of that fat #&% that is main director) that said that DIABLO III IS NOT PLAYED RIGHT IF IT WAS PLAYED IN SINGLE PLAYER. I dont give a damn if he want to evolve main gameplay factor around item farming, which is the main point of his statement. It is that i never liked a concept of Battle.net and/or online competitive play or w/e. I played Diablo in singleplayer all the time. Now many of you will tell me that i can still play it in singleplayer. Yes i know it, but acording to Blizz development team, it is still not right. I dont want developer of any game, whichever that game be, to tell me whats right and whats not.

Maybe i want to play Bot game only all the time in LoL, maybe i want to screw around Stormwind all day long in WoW one-shoting rats, maybe i want to barfight only in GW2, just let me play my game the way i want to and dont tell me whats right and whats not. I dont care that majority lazy #$@s will cash out for their equipment because that is primary goal of game in this state and "the only right way". Whoever want to support devs immature behavior, let them be. However, they lost my 60e and my pocket remains full. I am glad that i expressed my honest possible opinion about this. Love you all, and peace be with you :)

Main MMO at the moment: Guild Wars 2
    Waiting for: Pathfinder Online

I do not want to play D3 at all but I am heavly thinking of  buying it for the RMT to bot and sell.  Worst case items sell for 5-10$ each. I can still make the cost of the game back in a few days and then the rest is pocket change.  So in a months time I could make atleast  200-500$ a month.

I am even willing to have accounts banned long as i make x2 of cost to resupply accounts.

  • dotdotdashdotdotdash Member UncommonPosts: 488

The Koreans don't want RMT in Diablo 3 becaue they want to tax people on the items they sell, as well as Blizzard on the money it makes, at 17.5% VAT.

Read the news once in a while.

The only real winners will be programmers designing work arounds for bots so players can farm in diablo.

hehe, funny, so the koreans are gonna sell us europeans and americans their items again i guess, since they cant sell them their own :P

    • mobs spawns

    • Special/random events/Items

    • Loot drops

Due to this it will be very hard to create a bot to farm anything but normal difficulty very slowly.

Botting worked well in D1/D2 because it was all stored on the client and there isn't any real kind of anti-bottong system in place, where by D3 I am sure will use a WoW's wardens system.

As to the RMTAH - its only a problem cus Blizzard have have introduced it, if it was announced for swtor or gw2 people would be screaming "what a great idea". - Bottom line don't use it.

    Um no!!!!!!!!

I would not have bought tor nor would i guy gw2 if it had a rmtah i will stick to my d2 median xl for my d3 fix it's better then what blizz did for 3 anyway went 3d with diablo gag looks like shit in 3d.

    I can see it now....

A couple months after launch i will log in and want to run some hell mode but every game I join Ill be shunned because I didnt want to spend 50 bucks on my gear from the koreans selling crap on the RMT.

This is game will become not only pay2win but pay2play as well... because you will be forced to by item just so that other people dont kick you out of their games

    /yawn

Blizzards RMAH is the ultimate player driven economy - these items do not appear out of thin air, a player needs to find the item(s) by playing the game choose not to use it themselves, break it down for mats, sell it for gold, keep it for the future or give it to a friend before he might consider the RMAH.  What ever he does there is still only one of that item if he dosen't use it some one else might as well and if a few $ changes hands in a secure enviroment then whats the harm?

    That or we have;

    • All items Bind of Pickup

    • Dodgy 3rd party website selling items and stealing peoples accounts

It's been said a million times already no one needs to use the RMAH to win at D3, all items that will appear on the RMAH have to be found by players and have to be posted by players - nothing they might find on the RMAH will be of the reach of any player for simply playing the game, there is a traditional ingame gold AH as well as RMAH.

Now lets all stop acting like 5 year olds, and grow up.  It's my bed time.

If you use a 3rd party RMT site and get scammed, you deserve it...I hope they charge up 500 million on your card :)

People think that WoW gets hacked alot.  Diablo 3 is going to set a record.  I've already had to cancel a credit card thanks to WoW.  So I'll pass on Blizzard's horrible security.  A 3 year old could hack thier servers.

Over 20 years of playing online games and I've never had an account hacked (other than PSN hack).  Blizzard switches over to B.net accounts and not even 24 hours later, it's hacked lol.  Sadly I wasn't the only one.  I know 12 other friends that also got hacked when the switch occured.  All of which, had thier account banned for RMT activity.  Blizzard lost my money about 3 hours after they launched the whole battle.net account BS.

Sounds about right. Its much like raids in WoW or some such, with their GearScore. "You must be this 733t, to play here..."... ^^

But cheer up, there will always be people who don't want to spend any money. Perhaps you can form a guild.  I have no problem with spending money on a game I enjoy, so I doubt I'll have any problem in that regard.

Im ammused by those who casually mention undercutting the botters. Maybe you have forgotten that there will be both a fee for listing the item as well as a fee if the item sells. Trying to keep up with botters might lose you money.

all this debating about money that isnt even real??

    RLY?

if its true and you cant cash the money (if you can only use it to buy more blizz or ingame items) then the money aint even freakin real.....its just number on your screen that makes you buy things.

Prove me wrong and buy a bread at you local bakery with you blizz cradits.....plz TRY to prove me wrong when this game comes out......RLY! :) lolzors

Totally agree. Rmt destroy games. It destroyed ff11 and ROM and now it seems that it has made there way to the turbine games. Thats what the cash shops were for.  If your to freaking lazy to farm then you shouldnt be playing these games period.

Before posting, you better do some learning about Diablo 3 brother.

    1. You can cash out throuh PayPal (like Ebay) OR you can put it in your balance account @ BattleNet. Your choice.

So you can buy things for your "hard earned gameplay" in Real Life. :))) Of course Blizzard prefers you put the money on Battlenet (hence no fees), so you can play WOW ... for free with the profits of the RMAH or buy the CCG or board games.

    2. There is a fixed posting fee of 0.15 dollars, but a number of postings will be FREE per week. In fact this is a good thing for the casual player, since he doesn't need to pay anything as long as he stays within the number of postings.

    3. there is a fixed fee for sold goods: 0.85 dollars. That's a good thing because your goods need to be at least 1-2 dollars worth before posting. So the AH isn't overfloaded with usueless goods.

    4. There is also a gold auction house with the exact same goods. So this balancing between AH will be very interesting to follow.

Very interesting times ahead as Diablo 3 promises to combine dungeon crawling - loot chase - real life profits into one global package.

Poker meets RPG dungeon crawling without risks.

I didnt know about the paypal, so maybe it IS possible to buy real things with the money.......actually...thats even worse.....there will be TONS of botters and asian money farmers spamming chat to buy their items. Even more then in wow.

I stopped reading about D3 since they announced this RMT market.....i am a blizz fan since lost vickings but if they want to cash in on asian grind firms instead of fighting them off then i am out. Just mho

I'll be going for TL2 wich will have modding and stuff.....looking forward to that tbh.

I will as well as others I am sure just do most my trading in the lobby chat and won't be touching the RMT auction house. Everything will eventually become worthless like in D2 anyways as everyone gets everything eventually.

This isn't a signature, you just think it is.

Well, you already are playing a copycat game (SW) right now. It shouldn't be too difficult to choose the next hollow copycat.

FYI: you can ignore the RMAH and play only on the Gold AH.

And besides Diablo 3 has hardcore modes. You die: you die and your character is ... gone.

Blizzard deleted the RMAH in the hardcore mode. Sad. I would like to see all heroes losing $300 dollars of equipment.

I can ignore the RMAH, no problem here but i just dont want my chatbox to be full of sellers.......oh i hear you...."then turn off the trade channel"........they dont trade in trade channels.....they trade in general and there4 they are hacking the normal chat.

I want to use my chat for talking to fellow players about the ingame options and stuff, not to buy stuff.....i would use the trade channel for that :p

As for playing that copy of a game.....i enjoy it and i love the storytelling.....yes it has its flaws but as long as i like that should not be a problem for you now should it??

Diablo will be good, no doubt.....i just can not support a firm that takes money from these asian grind firms instead of fighting them off....thats all. my wallet will do the talking for me.

Thats why i will play TL2 instead of D3.....they offer about the same playstyle for less money an WITHOUT an already broken economy.

    My two copperz......enjoy

Aye much like china's way to treat the market. Buy from us but we wont buy from you.

I have yet to see what RMT brings to the table that the AH doesnt already provide. The problem with D2 was that gold was worthless , but that just requires balancing.

RMT is just a matter of fact for the industry these days. FTP MMOs are nothing but, and even sub games have a marketplace. Even in our social networks, every Facebook game has the option to spend real money. The fact is, if you think Blizz taking the RMT AH out of the game will lessen the amount of items bought and sold for real money, you are naive. How many years has it been since D2 and all those black market websites still exist and make money. All Blizz is doing is making it safer for the player. Sure farmers will still exist, and they will run thier own scam sites, but now its your choice if you want to be taken advantage of, possibly have your identity stolen to use them, or pay the extra dollar, know its a safe transaction, and go about your day.

Sure, not everyone uses those fake sites. So you think youre a "purist", then fine, ignore the AH, its your choice. Noone is telling you that you must use it, theres no transaction minimum to play the game. But dont be so ignorant to think that by removing the official RMT that the unofficial and illegal will just go away. Blizzard is breaking down walls here, and i applaude them. They are sending a message to scammers and farmers that, "hey, we know you are here, we know you make your living this way, and now we are fighting fire with fire". And just as the FTP movement has taken off, i believe this officially sanctioned RMT trades will take off and you will see them more and more. Get used to them now, or get used to not playing games anymore.

Well... You do know that the "money" that comes from places like the US Federal Reserve, is little more than numbers on a screen? ^^  So far, I've not had any problem exchanging that for any number of useful, and interesting things ^^  I see your point, but lets wait and see how it turns out in practice.  If you wish to see a game that takes this to the logical extreme, there is Entropia Universe...

I'm looking forward to D3, but I doubt we will see it until late 2012 (if then).

Rockstar doesn't release bad games, but I wonder if this game has any hope of living up to the hype Diablo 3
