Want Motor City Online back?

well, I saw a post in some random forums ive never seen before that sent me to this link. Well, I guess a team of some random devs are actually remaking the game back to its original form or something. They are about 50% done, and need as much support as possible...

McO Rebuild

They really need support, so if you would at least like click to make the traffic higher, or donate any amount of money, it would be great. I really want McO back :)

OR even if you would like to be part of the Dev team to work on it

That would really be great! I never did get a chance to experience the original. Would be nice to get something even close to it.

Well, you know how you feel when you wait for an MMO to come out and when it does you feel like you've paid to play it's beta test for another 6-9 months before anything even thinks of working the way it should? Being a network engineer you feel that way about anything Microsoft puts out."

Just incase anyone posts something on this, this isn't an illegal free server type thing. They do have a license from what I see.

lol Yeah, I think that is cool though. Although, their last update was 9-2004, so I wouldn't get TOO hyped.

MIGHT just be a lack of updated, but I dunno.

Where the hell is the logic in that? If there are people interested in it then it's a worthwhile endeavor. If YOU are not interested in it, it doesn't make it anymore worthwhile. Sure...I don't play UO or EQ anymore. Does that mean we should can those games as well? Hell if they brought E&B back I would play. I highly doubt if they brought it back it would detract from your life in any way. So why would you care?

On a side edit note here: Maybe if someone DID revive this beast and EA saw that the player base still enjoyed it they would remove their heads which are firmly planted deep inside their colons and pay attention for once. Instead of cancelling popular games to make room for trash or putting our more trash to replace old trash they might comprehend the concept of listening to the masses.

I am sure someone would if the license weren't so overpriced. Typical EA to sit on things that we could enjoy and let them collect dust. MCO is probably easier in costs and scale to revive and it might get the message out to EA ( though I have very little hope in them ever learning as a company ).

You DO realise EA Games and EA Sports are two seperate divisions. I mean...if they are about "sports" how do you explain their 2,000,000+ copy selling Battlefield 2? You think that's some hyped up basketball game with machine guns? Or maybe The Battle for Middle Earth ( and soon to be Battle for Middle Earth 2 and God knows how much else since they just acquired rights to the LoTR  ) was just a big football game with Orcs?

Sounds like you are a bit uninformed.

EA is about Sports it's in the game

EA is seperate because of Madden Football

EA exists because of John Madden

    now

Motor City Online is just another piece of gaming history

I am not one for being rude in forums, but you are truly an idiot. First, you're 13. You don't have much of a concept of "history" to begin with. Second, do me a favour and click this link.

    http://www.eagames.com/redesign/home.jsp

Now read to me what it says as the Header at the very, very top of your Browser window.

Read it? Okay...now...think hard before you type again :D

I will give you the fact that Madden Football made a BIG spalsh for them, but to think it's the only thing they are about would be like saying McDonalds is only about fries since they seem to win all the taste tests.

You really need to grasp the ability to look at multi-market companies before you pass an obviously uneducated judgement. That and the fact you need to get over the think that your opinion is right and should be law in the gaming world. You'd do well to get out of the mindset now. There are people who have been playing video games longer than you've been alive. If they are intested, they are interested.

basically because of their Madden Footballl series

it is what EA is known for, and yes now they are coming out with a lot of

different things but basically it was because of Madden Football

    U sir r the idiot N00berz

No, if you read carefully you will see that I agreed with you that the Madden Games made a big splash for them. However, where you get your idea that EA is "now" coming out with otehr bigs games shows your age yet again. They've been publishing games that were NOT sports related for many, many years.

Right now EA is known for shite. Since most of what the put out just stinks more than a rotted pig in a hot summer car. But EA Sports and EA Games have been two seperate divisions for quite some time. With your logic a company can never move past the thing that made them great or known. You've also not noticed the fact that you are outnumbered in this post by those that ARE interested. Showing your age again and I hope that you never become an executive in a large company with the mindset you've got going right now.

Call me any names you like in your juvenile, uneducated manner. You're entitled to your opinion but your fact gathering could use a lot of work, kid.

I am not arguing whether or not EA has anything worthwhile out now. I am arguing that MCO looked to be a great game and that's pretty much all I have heard about it. I am arguing that bringing something like MCO back could send the right message to EA. I think pretty much everything out from EA is shite, even BF2 which has it's moments. Their sports titles suck. They are slipping as King of the Sports Gaming world. 989 studios and many others are constantly nipping at their heals.

If YOU are arguing whether or not EA is any good, then you're arguing with yourself. I am stating that A- They have vested interest in MUCH more than just sports and B- Bringing back some worthwhile games that EA tossed aside to make room for crap like The Sims Online might be just what they need as a wake-up call.

LIAR! Admit it! You just wanna be able to run people over :P

Just kidding. I agree with you though. That would be a great idea. Would actually be one hell of an idea for a cyber community. Everywhere I have lived there's generally been classic car gatherings somewhere around me. It was a great place to hang out with other like minded people and show of your goods or learn a thing or two. This would be a GREAT idea and feel for something like MCO.

dude, it would be badass to go to meets and have judges and stuff...

and even if EA wanted to appeal to the ricers, they could implement new cars, along with old muscle cars just to make the content and variety expand... They don't realize that people wanna see content in MMORPG's. Old, and new cars, along with, what I would think would be the best. Driving to where you want to go, parking, getting out of your car, and going into the store to buy your parts. With maybe like customizable (sp?) shops, player owned. Buying an apartment somewhere, just things that make the game more fun and enjoyable.

I am just wondering how All Points Bulletin, the MMO by Rockstar, the people who brought you GTA is going to do? I wonder if maybe they are going to learn from whatever made MCO fun and incorporate that.

Guess we'll just have to see.

With 10x the depth the original had, I'd consider it. I played that Beta, and while I like the idea I think they really FUBAR'd the implementation.
