Rome Victor Good?

ArchaicArchaic Member Posts: 4

I have to say that this is one of my most anticipated MMORPGs of this and next year. However, I didn't win the Roma Victor contest despite me logging in nearly every day. For those of you who have played it, is it an amazing game? How is the combat? Graphics? and anything else you can say about it.

Well, nobody can really answer that, because the people who already are in beta have signed an NDA.  The reason it's so hyped is because of the proposed features, and people believe that the devs will come through on their promises with it.

Oh yeah, and people are saying that the graphics will be some of the last things worked on, so anything said about the graphics right now probably wouldn't hold true when the testing phase is over.

Please dont ask people these questions as they're not suppose to give you an answer while the NDA is still in effect.  Sure they didnt sign it, but they have been asked to keep things under their hats for the time being.  I'm sure you understand.

No problem, the NDA should be lifted soon enough.  Dont hesitate to ask questions, thats how we learn.  ;)  (christ I sound like one of my old teachers)

    farming
    bees
    cereals
    groves
    harvesting
    irrigation
    livestock
    dairy
    silkworms
    sowing
    vineyards

This is just what is in beta now.  It can expand, though I dont know if it will.  Other than this list and Ferox's preview, there's not been anything released on farming.  But it is in depth even taking into account fertility of the soil in places.  After the NDA lift I can tell you more.

In other words, once open beta starts, he can tell you more. I dobut the NDA will be released before then, seeing as how the devs are more secretive than Area 51.

I would guess that it's for about the same thing it's for these days, farming bees to produce honey...but then again, theres not much use for bees other than that, and planting a makeshift beehive in the home of someone you hate, but I doubt that'd be an easy feat image
  • RingerRinger Member Posts: 21

I plan to farm these "bee's", not for the honey but just to have a swarm of bee's to chase away un-wanted company.

As mentioned above, the most common use will be for honey.  As this was the main source of sugar in that time period.  Also, using that honey to produce that ever so lovely drink mead.

I'm just very, very... very interested to see how the medical/treatment thing works. A 'realistic' healing and treatment system... *drools*

Not only honey, but don't forget beeswax.  Something probably more suitable for antidotes as well as the whole medicinal array.

Crap I completely forgot about Beeswax.  Romans used them for death masks, making lifesize models, tablets (Ancient PDA).  Greeks used it to make dolls...and people were encased in it in the middle east.

I believe it could be used as a waterproofing along with pitch on the outside and inside hulls of ships.

When the NDA is lifted you guys can look forward to many many screenshots and other things on my legion's website.

but until then, read the preview, and search the forums like madmen, you will find your answers there. KFR and Kannoth have always usually answered valid questions.

And, on occasion, Kannoth has also been known to give valid answers  ;P

If tablets were the ancient PDAs, then caves must have been early ancient computers...large, bulky, and difficult to move.

On the subjetc of farming ...

will we have a proper weather system ..(not just the random rain/snow/sun that other games provide for 30 minutes ...

I mean will we get wet summer ...droughts etc ..all the real life features that can make or break a farmer of the period .....

never mind disease and insects that damage/destroy crops

    Many thanks

    LLoyd

I dont beleive any specific information has been released on the weather system, however i have heard KFR say that its going to be as realistic as possible without comprimising gameplay too much. So pretty much like every other aspect of the game, realistic but not too realistic.

    Horney!
    I love you!

    Sounds cool! :)

You never want a game to be too realistic otherwise it isn't much fun!
