Another reason why Eve and CCP are AMAZING!

So I've read a few posts about how new players are enjoying the game and thought I'd praise CCP for another reason

I joined about 8 months ago (after 3 years of trying to get into it, but findinf it kind of boring)

I finally loved it as got my char to 3mil SP on the first month, but had to stop playing after two months for personal reasons

I canceled my account, but without realizing, didn't remove my Credit Card

Anyway, fast forward 8 months to January 2012 and I realize (actually my wife does) that the game has been consistently charging me money all this time, so I paid 150$ for nothing.

Now, it could have been my mistake, I could have pressed the wrong button or maybe something just went wrong and the game re-initiated the monthly payment. I don't really know what happened, but I felt cheated and kind of furious and basically did two things right away:

1 - log in and start playing actively because I felt like I needed to play out the month I paid for already

2 - complain to mods and demand refund

after a few hours I received a reply saying that apparently my account has been used recently and they can't refund my money.

I had a Homer Simpson moment and went "doh, shouldn't have played and just ask for a refund!"

so I explained to them that I felt like I wanted to play for a bit and if they check my logs from last month and the time before that they'll see that I never logged in at all and thought that the account was canceled

without any further inquieries their next question was: "would you like that refunded on your card or do you just want us to give you credit for future use?"

my jaw dropped!!!

what other company refunds money so easily with so little asked and politely asks how you want your money returned.

so two days later I checked my VISA and lo and behold, 150$ back in my account for future use.

the morale of the story: CCP is an honest company, something I would never be able to say about other giants (I'm looking at you EA and Blizzard), so Eve is definitely a game I will be coming back to again and again when I have time to play

I had a friend pay for 6 months in the exact same way as you did He contacted customer support and, just like in your case, got the money refunded - hassle free.

Although this is more of a praise of CCP than it is of EVE. :P

there aren't that many companies that are being praised these days:) CCP is definitely the only one I would trust with my money though

i dont normaly give praise to night i tryed to get old account back all i had was my details last payment i made and toon name .

i sent an email with as much as i could 10 mins later got a mail back with my user name so was able to log back in again big thumbs up from me

Yeah, CCP has usually always been good with customer support compared to other companies. One reason I always trust them in their developments, and I am easily able to hand over my money to them for their game(s). (Can't wait for WoD)

They seem to keep pretty good logs on just about everything related to a character, (well, after all it is spreadsheets in space j/k) as many an illegal ISK buyer finds out when he/she finds the ill gotten goods deducted from their account, even if it means putting them in a negative status.
