  • that's a really loaded set of questions there.

best PvP? i'd say there aren't any but others would argue. everyone would say every class besides the one they play is OP. really you can play any class and do amazing imo. rogues do very well if that's what you're leaning towards (due to bard comment).

all classes can solo well in game. wouldn't say there is a best class. if i had to pick one i'd say cleric.

most needed. all classes are needed. there isn't one that is needed more then others. i'm not joking. warrior, cleric, rogue, mages all have a place in raid. the recruitment forums are always looking for every class.

i enjoy bards, but some don't enjoy being a "buff bitch". bards toss out NEEDED buffs for raid and do solid heals. there is a bard in every 20 man raid set up. if you enjoy barding you will have a place in raid. a lot of guilds are looking for full time bards (good bards!).

    hope this helps a bit.

Thanks! I loved. LOVED bard in FF11, dont know if they are the same or not. But i think it would be fun. I like being needed in a raid more then others (sounds dumb? i know).

But i guess i can switch it up alot with rogues from what im reading.

  • here are a couple of the player writen guides on bard

    PvP barding (blink bard)

    raiding bard

some of this may be adjusted a bit now, but this will at least give you an idea of how it all works. you can also make variations to the builds. really you can be creative and come up with your own playstyle in PvP and it generally can work fairly well. in raid you want to be 51pt bard though. VoJ is a must have in raid. this leaves you 15 points to spend if you went 51pt.

Every class will have a 'best PvP class' spec in it

Most of the better solo classes take a while to develop, Duracell Cleric is the easiest spec in the entire game solo IMO, just a little slow getting to it

Most needed end game raiding healers and bards

Bard is nothing like eq1 bard.  Many do not fnd it fun at all.  YMMV however.

Never played EQ1 bard, so would not know.

So i picked bard, and i picked ranger and nightblade for its other souls... is that the best ones? i mean for pve and pvp while im lvling?

  • ok, this is a great link imo. PVE ROGUE BIBLE

i think you can mess with bard while you're leveling, but i'd suggest sticking with the leveling build in this guide (competely your choice though). i leveled my rogue up a bit using a similar build and it just smoked through the levels. this will give you an idea of other rogue builds as well.

grats on your class pick btw. ranger is killer for lower leveling. that pet is a huge time saver. builds change failry often, so try and keep updated on your class changes as they come out. that link is decent for right now, but with 1.7 just around the corner, it's gonna change a bit. this game is always changing though. they are always trying to improve. it's why i pay my sub each month.

You can have 5 (soon to be 6) different roles.

So if you want something with a bit more AOE dps make one, or more healing, or just for pvp. And you can switch on the fly when out of combat.

I have a PVP Role, Pure heals, Support Heals, Single DPS and AOE dps roles.

And you can reset them for minimal cost if you want to reallocate/try something new.

As for the best. It depends what you are up against - some roles are better equipt for certan situations than others.
