OK after seeing the screenshots ... I have one concern which perhaps either some one from Redbedlam or a beta player can answer...
The game looks cold ...By that I mean ..The city seems devoid of life giving features ...as in crowds of people (either npc or player) there are no animals (there should be huge amounts of livestock around). No trees no birds, no fires, no trades (where are blacksmiths, masons, carpenters etc etc)
Is this just because the game is in beta and is only a nice to have or is it because they will not be there in the final release
By this I don't mean quality of what is already there as it looks fine ..we are not after a purely graphical game.. just a game that lets us feel Roman in all that is good and bad with the period
Anyway still look forward to playing the game
Many thanks

Most likely they are keeping the the details to a necessary minimum right now. No point in tying up bandwidth and dev time with inserting 14 different types of wavy grass and ornately patterned building decals at this stage. Plenty of time for that after the major development and bug fixing is done..
That would be my guess...

From what I am still reading and what I have seen, the game is still under heavy development
I think you will have to wait a little while longer to get your question answered but with all that RedBedlam intends for the game, I am sure they are gonna include some of what you asked.
Remember their servers are meant to handle 2000+ (Player & NPC) battles which should be very interesting but would take up some server load. I don't know how they are dealing with those factors but I have faith in RedBedlam. I am sure they will balance game content ideally for the player to enjoy himself and feel like hes really been placed in a setting during the reign of the Roman Empire. And also ensure that the server doesn't reach its limits.
Straight from the last Roma Victor appearence in the News Room here...
Since this is still in the "Commercial Testing" phase, not all of the features are already in yet, one major one being Elysium, and I'm not sure how many other aren't in yet. I'm pretty sure they haven't worked on the dynamic sky yet, but good graphics will be worked on last
