  You already listed a few good free games, if you want better you'll have to consider paying a monthly fee..

  I have to agree that in order to get much better than what you have listed for free games you are probably going to have to pay to play.  The problem you will face is that the games you have listed are not all that much different from pay to play games.  So the question I have is, are you sure you are looking at the right genre of MMO?

  its not that im looking for better games so to speak....but i loved RYL's hack 'n' slash attacking method.

  but payment isnt an option for me seeing as i just about to start college.

  this is the genre i like - i love pvp - and RYL has the best pvp i have yet to find...just shame i cant play that anymore.

  KO is fun - for like 10days...as ive already lvled to 65 before - so doingit again isnt fun at all.

  i really just want a game i havnt played whichis similar to KO or RYL.

  TBH I have not tried some of the games on the "free games" list stickied on this board that say they are primarily PvP.  Its too bad DAOC is pay to play because I really loved that games PvP system, and with battlegrounds (pvp zones) for all level ranges it was great to be PvPing in a level restricted area.  You were able to make a toon for each battleground if you chose and could mess around there for weeks on end.

  Sorry I can't be more help.  I have played the games you listed, but have not gone much beyond that in the Free game arena.

  I totall agree with this guy I too have been looking for a game with the hack n slash attack system in RYL but RYL sucks so i mean we need a game that dont suck. Preferably a free one as hes saying but everyone else is right to get a good game P2P or Buy the game like i dont know a good game to buy is GW but u dont like it so figure out what games our free monthly and go buy the game best way to find a good game since most free ones now are getting worse and worse compared to then P2P

  If you do decide to buy a game i can quite reccommend one as im looking for one as well but check around in like Best Buy they have so many games uve never heard of that are fun.

  Umm kal online is a GREAT game i thought for being.  Deffinitly not crappy graphics and umm is hack and slash.  PVP is challenged in duels.  The only problem with it is the party system isnt tht great.  I have been switching off between this and knight online.

  i loved ryl, before the pote thing

  Lvling in the 2nd island, seeing a raider and trying to kill them with 20 or so other lowbies was uber fun ;p

  Battleground was fun too.

  I agree that the hack/slash control and general feel of the game was the best of the many mmorpgs i've played. A bit dissapointed that to get to a higher lvl u needed a party, but u cant have it all ;]

  Try Lineage 2.
  Better Graphic, better combat system, same lame PVP
  It is quite expensive though, but you might like it
