Hotfix the very next day after server lag issues

GrayGreeneGrayGreene Member Posts: 239

Even though I wish Rift had more sandbox elements like Vanguard to go along with their themepark, I will say they continue to fix problems and add content extrememely fast.  Yesterday, there were quite a few complaints concerning server lag and ability lag.  I for one noticed it right away in warfronts.  Logged in this afternoon to see a new hotfix to correct that very problem.  That's fast work.  Thinking of posting some suggestions in the Rift forums now that Trion seems like a company who just might listen.

  • they are really fast on fixing issues. i'm convinced the mage dev is going to lose his job due to him fixing the issues so fast. he's going to put him self out of work completely soon. he updates us all the freekin time and often times crap is patched before he can even get a post up on the forums about them looking into it. trion just blows me away. the only issue i have with the whole thing is i am starting to feel spoiled. if something isn't patched that hour or overnight i tend to get frusterated. i think i'm going to be screwed when i pick up my next AAA title.

I dont know them any different. From the start, Rift was a very mediocre good game to me. It was fun while it lasted. I quit because there was no endgame. But the secrets, the PvE was very entertaining. Even the World-PvP if you came across a few people. The intanced PvP was the games downside imho.

    Btw: Are grenadiers still OP?

you talkin about sabs? nah, they aren't OP at all anymore, they were brought down a notch, and are being looked at again for 1.8 when that comes out.

quotes from the rogue dev on sab yesterday: "Changes to the Saboteur are being planned for 1.8. Feel free to post your feedback. Overhauling the entire Sab soul is not an option. General playstyle of the Sab stays the same. Promoting synergy between the Sab and other souls is definitely something to look at. It should be the strongest AOE DPS soul among the Rogues and competitive with other AOE specialist in other callings."

as far as endgame, i'm not really sure what you're talin about specificly but, Rift is filled with stuff to do at level cap. it's what the entire game is based on. rapid content patches with content for 50s pop out all the time. i'm not sure if you're thinking about a different game due to the end game statement and the grenadiers. rift doesn't have grenadiers.

The dev team will never be match IMO. I don't play the game more than 4-6 hours a week but I do remained subbed and will continue to remain subbed for one reason.  They are the only DEV team in the WORLD that have come forward to patch problems on their end to fix WINEHQ playablity.  I don't use Windows and Game on linux and my machine handles the games I play...  For them to spend 10-12 hours of there dev teams to find and fix bugs to make the game playable in linux then they will continue to recieve my sub even when I don't play for months on end.  I also know ALOT more people who are staying subbed for the exact same reason.

I'm currently not subbed and don't like alot of things Trion does.

    But

    1. Trion actually works for the sub money they get.

    2. Trion knows their coding and systems and is very able to actually fix what's broken.

That's two things more than you can say about any other company out there.

That mage dev is doing things inbetween two cups of coffee that Blizzard's Idiotcrawler can't work out inbetween their 6-month-patches with a whole dedicated team.

Some guy posts a bug and it's fixed two days after, while Bioware fails to even acknowledge a bug players scream about in a 50+ pages thread.
