Not long ago, I went to Best Buy to get a new game for my pc. I didn't have a certain one in mind so I was just browsing when I noticed these reviews hanging by a game called Dungeon Lords. All the reviews pretty much trashed this game. I was totally shocked to say the least. Out of curiosity I asked a salesperson about this game and was basically told to avoid it completely, due to numerous bugs, missing features, etc. Well I thought maybe this was some sort of joke or whatever so I asked another salesperson and got basically the same reply. Well I ended up leaving with another game, went home and started researching DL. All I can say is THANK YOU Best Buy. Anyone ever seen or heard of a retailer doing this or of a similar experience??? BTW, I had never met those salespeople that I can remember... they weren't friends or anything.

No the game is pretty awsome if you play it.That dudes pretty stupid.
Oh yeah and salesperson are mostly stupid about videogames.that dont work at a videogame store
the group of people who i knew that worked at EB, who are now all gone
they would always give good advice like this, is someone was really wanting to buy a game that sucks horribly they would either tell them to rent it, or let them play a gutted copy to show them it was horrible, they even did the same thing if someone came in to buy a system without really knowing anything. they were very honest and cared much more about the customers having been pleased and coming back, then sell them something stupid and pushing them out the door.
I work in sales and allways tell the truth about a product. I have even pointed customers to another store.
Most times the people are so happy with the honosty they allways come back.
Though my Best Buy doesn't do this, I could see them doing something like that. They have great people skills, and are very informative about games/cds/movies. When I bought Guild Wars, I got into a long discussion with these two guys that they said "archers suck. Don't be an archer." While I told them I was going necro/mesmer, I explained archers weren't all that bad when played correctly. I loved it; I could never get that kind of arguement out of my local EBGames or Gamestop. Best Buy also seems to have the biggest selection of games, as well. My EB or Gamestop are always out of games that I want, yet Best Buy surprises me by having games that neither of the "gamer's choice" stores have. For instance, PSO. When I tried to buy this game, neither the EBGames or Gamestop had any used copies. However, weeks later, I went to Best Buy on a totally unrelated reason, and they actually had several copies that were factory-released (un-used).
Basically what this huge rant means: I love Best Buy. I hate EBGames/Gamestop.

Fry's, best store ever. Me and someone I know both had good experiences. My friend was looking for a good cheap graphics card. He went to fry's and found the same gtaphcs card he could get on newegg for 100$, but at fry's it was 140$. he told the salesperson he could get a 100$ card on newegg. the saleperson respsonded "go for it, thats a great deal." honest people are the best.
