Turn-Based MMO's any new ones the horizon?

Been playing Atlantica online for a while now and im getting back into the turn-based, i even turn on the old PSX to get my turn-based fix from the FF series... but I've been doing some digging and theres not a whole lot out there in this catergory,

I'm sick of all these WoW clones and run up and stand and dps games... and im acheing to sink my teeth into a turn based game until GW2 Comes out... I played wakfu and dofus and other Turned based one but what im really after is more games like Atlantica, i also played Wonderland as well...

So i guess my question is why isn't there many A+ games like altantica out there for turn-based play? Has this game type just died off and no longer popular?  and also does anyone know of Up anf coming games like these... that i could check out? Cheers

    I'm not aware of any upcoming ones, but Wizard 101 is turn-based.  If you haven't played that, you could look into it.

    Sorry to not be on topic, but I just have to ask. How does a turn based mmo work? I remember playing some turn based games over LAN and getting frustrated over waiting on the other players, so I never would have guessed they would impliment it in an mmo. I'm guessing there is a mechanic that keeps things fluid.

    All of my posts are either intelligent, thought provoking, funny, satirical, sarcastic or intentionally disrespectful. Take your pick.

    I get banned in the forums for games I love, so lets see if I do better in the forums for games I hate.

    There's typically a time limit, so if you don't go within 30 seconds or so, your turn is over and you do nothing.

    yeh that was a turn off for me to plus the kiddy graphics were a no go for me... more games like atlantica im after atm.. u name them I've probably tried them

    i played atlantica to death and loved it, one of the only F2P's i liked. It ran it's course, and in the past i've tried getting into it again, only to find the spark just isn't there anymore, i've done it all too much. even spent a hefty amount of change on the cash shop items!

    I won't be returning, and have a fuck ton of stuff just sitting there, so if you want the stuff i got, ill gladly toss it to you for free. and by toss i mean dump it all on you lol. my collection book was looking pretteh sweet from what i remember, and i have a many mounts n stuff. send me a PM if interested

    Grotesque-Tactics is a turn based game similar to the old Shining Force/FF Tactics games the graphics are ok on this.

    Cthulhu Saves the World

    Breath of Death VII

    Hero's Tale Enhanced Edition

    these are old school turn based rpgs.   NES style graphics though.  should be on steam.

     

    Wakfu, Atlantica, Wizard 101 are the only turn based mmos Ive seen.

    i would so take the atlantica stuff off ur hands Mycene server? i spent alot too but didnt get many tings for my colections book thatd be a big help
