there was no mention of it being an emergency or important patch, it was just listed as maintenance.

and no, we dont expect to wait a week to fix an important exploit or bug, if they have the fix for some of those things we are understanding enough to know it needs fixing IF THEY FUCKING TELL US ABOUT IT

and no their forums arent "tied" to the game. they have the ability to bring the forums up or down or enabled or disabled at will.

and the bugs, and there are lots of them, are not so irrelevant that we the playerbase are like teehee oh well, lets just play they arent that important anyways!

the bugs in this game are numerous, also is the buggiest launch ive seen for an mmo in a long time. nothing beats vanguard and mortal online though.

but you're right, bioware can't win. because they cant stop fucking up

Played all the way to lvl 50 and now leveling another alt. So far i have come across total of 4 bugs and one crash in 200+ hours of game time. Exploits are something that are very common to MMOS and every newly released MMO goes through that phase. So excuse me if i don't believe that 'bugs in game are numerous' BS.

Why don't they just do what EVE does and designate a specific day for patches? rather than just decide a saturday morning (and now seems to be the afternoon) would be fun.

They do! They do 8 hour maintenance every Tuesday! /shrug

But now they just took down the servers with no explanation and just label it Maintenance and have no ETA when they come back. lol.

That says more about your powers of observation than the bugs in TOR. You just have to look at what the devs have acknowledged and even already fixed. I'm astonished you can not notice so much.

You know the entire reason most are even raging on this is because the forums are so conspicuously down also. Ofc people are going to and blow your forums up with how displeased they are, but sitting there and acting like they are your children and they shouldnt be concerned with grown folk business is wrong.

CCP who by far had one of the roughest 2011 as far as customer/company relations never went as far to take down their forums. The EvE community is 10 if not 20 times more cutthroat and bloodthirty than SW:TOR could ever hope to bolster. Bioware needs to man up and lay in the bed they made.

I really don't want this game to fail not in the least, but I am a consumer/gamer before I am any type of dedication to TOR or BW. In the same fashion as there profit margin comes first in many companies eyes. Like many of people have said; the easiest and most point blank way to get your displeasement across is to unsubscribe.

and I can do that to CCP and EVE, I'll have no issues packing it up on The Old Republic...

PM before you report at least or you could just block.

So you are telling me i should stop playing the game and go after bugs which are not even effecting my game progression in any way just because i have a point to prove with you guys? yes i came across total of 4 bugs which effected me directly other than that smooth sailing all the way  to 50.

I have seen all the patch notes by the way but i stillf ail to see these 'numerous' bugs. You know what that word means right?

bugs my friend, guildies, random pugs, pvp pugs, and I have encountered in swtor since launch:

    cut scenes:

invisible lightsabers, missing eyes, massive size differences in npcs in different scenes, spelling errors in subtitles, npc's having seizures randomly, or backround npc's siezing, body parts missing, clipping through world/objects

    dungeons:

mobs constantly being out of line of sight regardless of distance you are to them, mobs being immune to any damage and resetting every time you touch them, mobs hitting you from across entire instance, bosses getting stuck and being immune to damage making it so you have to reset entire dungeon to kill it, loot not dropping off bosses, bosses being able to be killed by just running away from it long enough

    pvp:

Ilum (enough said), not being able to see players, players clipping through objects/world, interactable objectives not responding, crashing to desktop/select screen on accepting warzone pop, voidstar crashing players

    quests:

quest interactive objectives not working, quests not being abandonable, quest mobs not being able to be killed due to the immortal bug, quest objectives not updating with doing what it tells you needing to be abandoned then restarted to work

    graphics:

armor showing black on characters and companions depending on ones you wear (social slave girl outfit for example), world disappearing if you turn camera in certain locations of zones...

ughh.. thats just off the top of my head from things again my friend/guldies/pugs/and i have encountered so far in the game.

so you my friend are lucky to of only dealt with 4.

and i have CTD and BSOD and black screen restarted many times along with all of the other people ive been around

    EDIT:

BUG: my bff played a bh since launch, he was pissed to get to last bh story quest to find out it was broken and he couldnt finish it.

I completely understand. For people with work and families saturdays and sundays is usally the only day they can play the game, downtime like these pisses the players off more then usual cause you pay for a service that you can't use during your the peak hours.

God I hope Tera, Secret World, ArcheAge, GW2 and all the others do a better job

Yeah theres been hundreds, Im a BH and still stuck in that end situation despite hitting 50 2 weeks ago,  lets throw in companions not remembering skill selections so mako spams her fricking CC all the time despite being turned off,  companions dissapearing at every transition, taxi etc

Warzone particualry Alderaan allowing clipping under the left and right turrets by running at a certain point at stairs meaning you cant be hit but can hit.

Now throw on top the sheer amount of exploiting that has gone unpunished.   Valor no1 in the first few days, afk'n warzones, speed hacks, credit dupe, item dupe, Valor no 2 last weeks patch and on top of those the 5 or 6 exploits found in 1 dungeon alone in 1.1 allowing mass harvesting of Columi Rak gear.

BW is on probation month for me .

They are pretty green in mmo and i understand that but they are really adapting slowly .

1)hero engine.I personally believe the animation lag which they been struggling with and not able to fix as well as the game inability to hold 50  people in one area without loads of lag is the engine problem.

This to me is a really expensive mistake and will cost them much more in long term  then if they did build their own.It is a untested  engine made originally for a fantasy mmorpg and not a sci fi with loads of projectiles.

    2)terrible CSR.

3)worst timing for downtime i ever seen.Worse for euro

    4)poor pvp .

    5) reluctance to grow balls and do the right thing.Currently there are scoundrels/OP destroying players 1 vs 1 without them been able to do anything since it all happens in few secs. They have a patch on test they keep delaying which addresses this but now that the scoundrel/OP players have hit the forums it been delayed again. They need to stand up and just do what balances the game ,We all hate nerfs and really i wish all this got sorted in beta but they need to stand strong and just do it in a swift motion.

6)Crappy UI that is the least responsive i ever seen. You sometimes have to mash a button so many times to get it to work.Dunno if this is the engine fault but should be fixable.

7)No cross server WZ.Really lucky my main is on a server with good population and since i play republic i rarely am in queue long  or forced to play huttball like imp.But i have an alt on a server which was made last and its horrible there nothing happens. It would really do well with cross server.

I don't think that is what he's saying.

I think he's discussing about the game and it's flaws and bugs and gamebreakers. You on the other hand (and I say this in the most polite way) defend the game and the developer like a rabid fanboy and belittle everyone who dares to criticize this precious piece of coding.

I'm glad you have had smooth and bugfree gaming experience. I haven't. And I'm goint to discuss about them on these boards and on other forums.

If we're talking about this game and it's launch. It probably is a pretty decent experience if you don't do anything MMOish things (crafting, trading, PvP just as an example). Or if you try to utilize your lvl50, you don't have much working features to do (Operations are bugged I've been told, PvP in Illum is a total mess, crafting is useless, there's absolutely no trading). You're left with Star Wars: The Non-existent Republic, The Sequel (The horror of rolling alts).

At this point (coming up on level 47 commando) I can see all of the corners that have been cut (I assume because EA was in the background screaming about things) that REALLY detract from what other wise would be a good game.  I'll likely run this one to 50 and then unsub. Its a shame, because I was interested in the shadow class, but because of various "issues", and the way Bioware is conducting themselves, its just not worth it to me.

Its a shame, because this could have been a great game, if they had spent more time polishing it. But the further one gets in the game, the rougher the edges get, and it becomes painfully obvious that things were rushed.

It is not hate, it is frustration. It is prime gaming time in Europe and we can't play the game which we both paid for and paying monthly fee for. This is just a slap in the face to all European players.

That's not what I said and thats not what you said. Where on earth did I say you should stop playing the game?  I'm delighted that you are enjoying the game and the bugs are not 'affecting you directly'. (Which again is quite different to 'not coming across bugs' which you first said). I'm nt surprised you are not seeing bugs, you are seeing things here that I did not write.

As others have already said, it's as much the lack of any notice and information as the actual downtime.

If they are fixing a critical bug they should tell us, im sure most players would understand that. No communication and suspending the forum really is a bad way to go.

But your right, EU players are getting sick of getting the shaft, being treated like second class customers is unwise and it's creating a "them and us" feeling on the forums.

Expresso gave me a Hearthstone beta key.....I'm so happy :)

So lets see, i come across total of 4 bugs and that somehow qualifys you to comment on my observation skills? iw as discussing about the game and you were more keen to get personal with me. See the difference? everyone is sharing their own personal experinces here and mine is totally different. I read exactly what you wrote.

You are just offended somehow that i didn't come across 'numerous' bugs. My apologies.

They are really testing my resolve to play this game.

Yes I signed EULA and I know they can do what ever they please but I never signed that I will remain their subscriber forever.

This is just unbelievable. They just don't respect people who play their games - heh I've said this so may times and yet I still don't believe that this is a company that once made my favorite games.

It isn't just the unannounced and then extended downtime that's infuriating - it's the fact that Bioware has alwso disabled posting on the official forums for the duration. That shows especial contempt for its paying subscribers.
