don't feel the need to explain myself yet again but you can read through my long ass post history if you want to see why I have such an involvment in this game.. Either way I still don't see how a post saying I love this game and nothing else is in anyway shape or form usefull. People can sit there and post a 1000 word description on how they dislike this game and what they would like to see fixed yet one person could come into every single one of those post and say "go back to wow" or "if you had been following the game you would of know exactly what you were getting" and thats all they say over and over and over baiting left and right and they can continue to do this all they want because they are being positive about the game but giving no reason or adding anything to the conversation. There are tons of them on these forums.. either way doesn't matter much anymore, i'm over it..

If i waste my time by playing a game i enjoy or by replying to posts about a game that i dislike, its not your call how to waste my time.
The same way I don't understand why you waste your time pointing out that you don't understand why i waste my time.

The point of a MMO is to have fun with other players.
While making your own story is fun as well it is not a must for a MMO. There are many optional stuff that adds fun but the point of a MMO is to play with other players, preferably plenty of them. That is why it is called MMO.
You could have a MMO that is just a gigantic random dungeon with close to zero story or freedom, it would still be a MMO and it could even be very fun if made the right way and had the right difficulty.
Both devs and players always assume that a MMO must have certain stuff but it just ain´t true. The only thing you need is plenty of players and some kind of character development.
A perfect example of why they have a REPORT link above every post. If you feel someone is posting something in a manner they shouldnt, and its against the rules on these forums, click it. The only people here that have the right to tell any one of us what we can and cant post here, is the mods.

I think it boils down to advertising,more 'I love this game!' and less 'this game is terrible' posts = more $$$$ advertising.

completely agree with this, apparently when you email the management of the forums community about being banned for no clear reasoning they don't seem to want to reply. I asked simply for an explanation not even for a lift of the ban i received when i posted a long post about the reasons why i disagreed with the op of another forum post but was never contacted by the admin of the forum mods about it at all. Still waiting on why they temp banned my post. I wonder if i'll get another ban for posting that i never got contacted by the admin about why i was banned the last time especially since it's my birthday and all. it might cause a timey wimey spacey wacey chronometric inversion in the time vortex if i do. What's sad is i don't just hang out in the forums to post negative things i post in all kinds of topics all over the place on this website even things that have nothing to do with mmo's in here and often i'm very positive, i can't imagine why one can't have a descending argument anymore about anything unless whomever they have moding the forums has had so many bans going that the management can't keep up with the sheer number of bans that weren't supposed to happen from simple descending arguments and not trolling...
Damn, and all this time I thought it was to not get caught and sent to Jail!

I have gotten the same warnings about Rift and World of Warcraft. Its not a special rule for SWTOR. Anything overly negative about any game gets deleted as trolling.
im not telling you how to post at all, i just find it funny that you would waste your time posting on a forum of a game you don't like. like i said I don't understand people like you at all and i kinda feel sorry for you.
It just seems that the weeks following TOR release all mmorpg admins had been replaced by EA/Bioware pawns and were trying to put the ban hammer on anyone voicing against the game.
Now the magic dust is gone, nobody's fooled by anything, people who like the game play it, people who don't already quit.
This game got issues, probably more than a AAA released in 2011 should have, but that's it. It's not a bad game, it's not a good game either, at least not good enough for me to spend time and money in it.
I also think that the high number of "warnings / bans" or whatever has been due, for a large part at least, to fanboys hitting "report" on whichever post that voiced some dislike about their lover.
Now people just need to settle down and move on to something else. 2012 has a lot of interesting stuff coming down the pipe, like GW2, TERA, Diablo 3, the panda dudes and maybe some news about WOD !

LOL this is the first time i have seen someone saying people should be banned for saying "I love this game" like i said blind hatred running wild. sorry but if you can't see that premise as silly then i should probably bow out of this conversation as its hard to have a debate with someone who isn't rational.
or maybe they knew it would just incite a flame war. they will probably be doing the same when GW2 is released, because the Hype for that game is so out of control that im sure there will be some people who are let down when they find out it isn't the perfect MMO. and they will make sure everyone else knows they think GW2 sucks.
Condescending elitist passive agressive posts like these are why i suggested this to be a perma-bannable offense and integrated into the RoC.
I'd rather have someone swear at me for three pages with intelligent comments in a heated discussion about game-mechanics, design and artistic intent than read one line of a thinly veiled "i don't want to read this, go away"

once again you can look at my posts over the past month or two and 90% of my posts aside from a few the last week have been rational and I gave examples of all my issues with the game yet I get trolled on every single post on every single thread by peopel who do nothing but say go back to wow or some crap like that. Yet they are allowed to run rampid here.. not saying people who troll negativley about the game shouldn't get warnings/bans either but it goes both ways.. there's also a difference between the people who say I love this game and nothing else and ones who go to every single negative thread and do it just to bait the person in the OP..

Except I've met very few mmo playes, other than role players, who actually have made "stories".
What they have made were anecdotes relating to their interactions with other players. Oh, I'm sure we all could say "I have so many stories to tell about my time playing mmo's" but they really don't amount to much other than regaling a time that such and such did this and that a certain guild did that, or the time you pulled an extra mob and wiped but so and so escaped and everybody laughed.
That's all good stuff but it doesn't satisfy on much more than an interactive chat room level.
Story is soemthing else and it is something that I think most mmo's have problems with as they try to include it in one way or another but sometimes it doesn't work or it creates issues.
Loke is correct, the point of an mmo is to have fun with other players. If people can do that then the mmo has succeeded. At least for the players who find it enjoyable.
As far as posting that one likes the game or doesn't like the game, (as per the OP) of course one can. I do question why each and every person requires their own thread to say the exact same thing that is being said by other players in already established threads.
Or the need of some to hover and take every opportunity to rant and then rant again. And then rant again.

true but that's my point I have watched for the past few months the same people trolling these forums yet in a "positive" way and still do it so my assumption is they aren't getting warnings or would have been banned by now. Only point i'm trying to make is it should go both ways but obviously mods can do what they want it's there site and their the ones getting advertising to pay for the site. And like said earlier in the thread more negativity doesn't help with advertising.
