I lost some screenshots because I didn't have fraps open but yeah, there were even more BAMs(big ass monsters) I saw and didn't manage to capture them.

This is just me half exploring one territory, and theres like 20 right?

Well I must say all these BAMs were beast, I died so many times just running away because they would launch projectiles or jump through the air and bodyslam me.

Edit: Sorry for extremely low quality but I have shitty upload speed.

I'm so on the fence with this game atm that i'm getting splinters in my ass lol. Perhaps too soon after SWTOR, i need the good karma to reinvigorate me.

Looks a lot like Aion UI wise and Graphics wise. image

However, thanks for the upload. I'll still be giving Tera a go in the beta.

As I mentioned on another post I'm enjoying the openness of the game quite a lot. Many points of interest and whatnot, truly amazing.

so, from the screenshots it doesn't look like mounts actually interact with the "ground" at all

    ???

Here's a question I have... Does the game penalize you for going off the beaten path. Like if I decide to to go off an randomly kill mobs, kill boss monsters and PvP. Would I have to go back to my old grey quest and do them, or could I just go to the next area, appropriate for my level and quest there?

I was watching a stream where someone play KTERA and was cursing for missing ONE quest so he has to grind mobs to make up for it. Although I am not sure how much we can take that into account since he can't read Korean and there might be some other info he could have found to solve that issue.

Others might be able to chip in on this question though.

I have no idea, I just ran off to explore, I couldn't kill any of these monsters.

You can go wherever you want I believe, as long as you keep up with the story quests.

I hope to get picked because MAN that LOOKS pretty.

Even if only for a month or two.

Why can't we go back to MMO's where certain baddies in areas should be steered clear of?  Why do we group all the fuzzy bunnies and level 1-5 creatures together?  Don't you think that those big bad orcs would invade and make a camp there?  Uh-oh a level 10-15 camp in a 1-5 zone, better steer clear.

Hasn't this game been released for over a year? Not that it's a big deal (floating horse on awkward terrain). Problem is all they're testing is localization (unless I'm mistaken), they didn't rewrite the games code from what has been active in Korea for quite some time. Not sure "beta" is the proper term that should be used here.

i have a question about this game that you can hopefully answer.

are there 2 slots for weapons or just 1? like i've seen a lot of lances and shields go together, and i've heard the dual wield warriors only have 1 slot for both weapons.

They do normally but some of the textures don't quite match up with the rendered object.  Probably is a UE3 limitation or the dev's have not had the time to go back and touch them up.

Personally I've always enjoyed being able to do weird things with mounts in MMORPGs. image

One slot,  lance and shield come as a set.  same goes for warriors duel weapons.

That's the active UI on the screenshots. When you want to access your inventory or quest book or whatever, you press alt and you get a bit more choices. Also, all elements of the UI can be moved around anywhere you like them.

It looks like Rift tbh. How is the gameplay, anything interesting or again the same old stuff?

As far as MMORPG system used, it uses the generic quest hub system, where you're sent to kill X or collect Y or craft Z.

The active combat however makes all the difference, because it has been the most intersting combat system I've played in any MMORPG so far. For how long it'll keep me interested however is yet to be seen, considering that both The Secret World and Guild Wars 2 are launching this year.

You kiddin right?. I dont remember that you could have a race that can be  made to look like hamsters or another that are like 14 year olds in Rift.

As for the gameplay, its pretty sweet. Its kinda like an action game. Click to atack and combos but you have a hotkey bar with some skills. You can also dodge and block with some characters

  • almalexiusalmalexius Member UncommonPosts: 180

Hmm i can see how more skill based combat could make a game more challenging. I don't know if i want to look like a Hamster though.

Anything else els, like extensive crafting, economic features, housing, exploring, customization etc?

    WOW,eq2,Vanguard,WAR,LOTRO,AOC,Rift Aion, SWTOR, TERA.
