ya the guy made it to level 8, I will for sure make my mind up on what he says. Wow AWESOME review , really.
Anyways I will make my own mind up once the game is out, play it to max level and decide from there what its like once ive seen all the features the game has to offer.
I had a much better experience with my time in Beta (I got to level 11 as well with a human sorcerer). I liked the combat realizing that it was a starter area and they didn't want to completely roll over newbie players.
I had no lag at all (the fact that he had 8 apps open I am not surprised he had issues).
I ended up getting weapons and armor that looked visibly different in the starter area. (I was level 10).
I did like getting bonuses while harvesting (ie, health regen, etc).
I quit playing at 11 because I knew I was going to buy the game and didn't want to advance any further (I like exploration).
My rotation ended up with about 5 skills mixed together (a magical land mine, then an AE projectile, then a positional AE, a few fireballs, then ice spell, followed by a chained AE to take out the main mob of the pack). Doin this while trying to stay out of range. While the normal mobs really couldn't kill you, the quest bosses sure could. Normal mobs hit for 20 to 30, boss was hitting for 250+.

This game is truly fucking bad. To be fair, I may be slightly biased as I have high standards after following GW2 but I was hoping I could fill my time with TERA and that it would be pretty decent. I was so wrong. Its basically WoW with new graphics (like RIFT was) but then its added a bunch of shiny shit on top of it to try and be different which just makes it even more annoying.
This is the worst review i've ever seen and is he playing on a toaster? I got 80fps on a pretty decent rig with max setting and AAx8 with the high res textures, he was playing the low res NA version.
Not to mention he rolleed one class and got to level 8. It disgusts me people like this guy exist.

My favorite part was about how he has a middle-level quality computer and decided to play TERA with 8 other programs running them complained about getting 10 fps.
That being said, I have heard pvp in TERA is not that good. But it's an MMO, so I wouldn't expect it to be good. From what I have read/been told/personally observed DOAC and WAR are the only MMOs that actually did PVP well. If tehy made this pvp good though, holy shit would it be a blast to play. Collission detection, active aiming, blocking and dodging. Cross your fingers, hopefully they balance it at some point.
I will be using TERA for PVE, and it is damn pretty and damn good at that. I just can't decide on a race/class!!
