An intrepid Secret World forum member has discovered a mysterious Easter egg on the official Funcom site. To see it is simple: Click anywhere on the first page that isn't a link and then type 33. Once done, you'll see what looks to be a blue screen of death (it isn't!). Waiting for a few moments on the blue screen yields a mysterious image of a door surrounded by runes. Try it for yourself and let us know what you think it portends!

"I'll never grow up, never grow up, never grow up! Not me!"
Interesting
does the outer circle actually spell "sfnpfrcxpnxiszgy"?? it just looks like slightly altered english letters.. the inner circle has some odd characters which do look like a fish

Some of it looks latin or greek, working on it.
update its an early phoenician script language I now believe identified 9 of the symbols.
Anyone know hebrew? Have this twitcy feeling its a hebrew the barred M is so familar to me.
Think it was in Tabla Rasa?
Reminds me of runes from Ultima.
Just sayin
Ok its not Latin (whos alphabet we use) and its not Greek. I'm fairly certain it is nordic the problem is there are different versions of nordic going back a long way - I can't figure out which version they are using.
The other problem is I'm fairly certain Funcom is a nordic company (switzerland or some place like that) so I'm not certain if what I'm translating is in their native language which would make things even more difficult.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Runic_script ---> good overview on some of the different runic scripts. Scroll down and you will see how their letters translate to ours, again there are different variations though which make it difficult.
Its the elder futhark "alpahabet" pretty much in order.
r.i.p. c!
Check this some of the symbols seem very close.
Can i just point out Nordic is Scandanavian no where near Switzerland they are Nordic runes, but do not appear to be Templar as they used a hooked rune in their coded inscriptions but Funcom may be not be that accurate who knows ?
seems correct
Ancient Aliens came to Earth many many years ago and coded this website
This is the single most important evidence of ancient aliens to date
anyone who watches Ancient Aliens will get that
Yes - I think Funcom is that accurate - yes sorry, I messed up my geography.
Anyway it is likely nordic I was thinking Elder Futhrak but some symbols do not appear part of that alphabet so I'm a bit puzzled.
Definitely Nordic runes, also used for divination which expands on their original meanings. Certainly lots of things to research and look at to try and decipher this one, maybe the runes are a red herring and something else is hidden in that image.
wow Im impressed : )
As someone pointed out this is the elder futhark alphabet with 24 characters.
Interestingly, the alphabet actually has 33 characters ( and 33 was the code to get to the page). However, the picture we get only has... 24? What's missing? A mystery....
Edit for source:
http://www.esotericblog.com/runes-history-and-their-uses/
all 24 runes from the Elder Futhark Alphabet, yet the last two are reversed in order and the "S" symbol is partially missing...
Odd

My assumptions are based off of this link...
The following posters link seems to make the alphabet in the correct order and style on Funcom's site.
Ah! I have solved the outside....It is the Eldar Futhark alphabet in order ver batim. Doh someone beat me to it =P

Yes. It is the runic alphabet (pretty much). Lotsa history associated with it (besides the fact that some "devil worshipping" rock bands "used" it during the 80's.
possibly another one of the puzzles you have to sort out just to tease the TSW community and get them even more into the whole "secret"?
It's part Latin. (old)
Not too hard, I knew the symbol that looks like a fish.
24 letters in that alphabet with 33 in another runic form.
33 if pertaining to freemasonry would be referring to the "Scottish Rite", the highest degree of the masonic order (or so they lead joe public to believe...). The Scottish Rite is more popular in american freemasonry.
Not really sure what this is or its link to 33, especially as the runes are basically the alpahabet a-z so to speak, with one rune seemingly incorrect or drawn different.
r.i.p. c!
Saw a program on this which was bloody incredible and the runes seems very similar or at least Nordic

The Kensington Runestone suggests that the Templars where first to America as they fled the Templar massacres and this runestone was a boundary or claim stone.
God I have this really intense feeling I am going to love this game.
