Hopefully people actually read into the classes moveset later on before judging about which class is unfair/too slow/too fast/too shitty throughout the tests. Because most of TERAs pvp is at a later level, so lower levels don't matter too much. Regardless I was doing 10v10 deathmatches and didn't find it too unbalanced. If I exposed myself i'd die really quick but if I played right I could get behind someone, get a knockdown and kill them. It's a lot of skill.
I dueled an archer(which everyone complains about) 1v1 as a slayer, first time he owned me, second time I managed to dodge his shot, charge at him and get a knockdown. Then I layed a beating using a quick combo and as he tried to disengage I used my ranged attack quckly to kill him before he could get away to kite. Same people, same class, different gear, two totally different outcomes. Depends how you play thus far imo.
I was talking to my friends and we all come to a conclusion. What you said is not going to happen lol. If a player can't win, it is 100% inbalance, not his/her skills

Really, the game is that poorly balanced? Wow, cancelled pre-order, screw this game.

What have those South-Koreans been doing for a year? Herp, Westerners know better about mechanics...and stuff.
Ok, so after waiting so long for TERA, i finally could get to test it for a couple of days.
It was all about TERA lately, i couldn't wait untill i could play it, no other game was good enough for me, TERA would make a world of difference, i was so excited !!!
After playing TERA untill level 10, I am very dissapointed in a couple of things:
- Graphics: All settings on highest and still graphics look a bit outdated, did they use better textures for promoclips ???
?!?!
The game looks better than Rift , has higher quality textures and runs better on most computers.
- Controls and casting: Do all classes stand still for a bit while casting ? Not even instant casts can be used while running???
!?!?!
Warrior swings sword while running around. Archer shoots while moving. Sorcerer too.
Some classes have to stand while casting, but that is gameplay of that specific class.
Play Warrior if you want fast, hit and run - pwn class
- Framedrops now and then: can't be my computer, all setting to high, good hardware and still performance issues
Either server lag during beta, or your PC
These 3 points, especially the standing-still-while-casting (even instants) make me wait to pre-order the game i've been waiting for so long.

No game is ever going to be balanced Although people will demand the game being balanced :P
Instead of mashing hotkeys over and over, you are spamming mouse clicks.. From the videos I have watched, there was little to no strategy at all and most players just sit there and absorb the attacks from enemies while spamming away until it dies, rinse and repeat.. The world is nice, but even Vindictus required a little more "skill" (I use that term very loosely when talking about MMO's and taking into consideration the fan base) when in combat having a block and dodge being pretty important in many battles..
I'm going to go ahead and skip this release.. The first "platinum" title in a long long time, but I just can't see myself giving in to another Aion.. Best of luck to the game and all of its followers though..
I have to adress this mate. because I generally value your oppinions.
The game is easy in low levels, that is true.
But.
You have watched newbs playing.
What happens (at least in low levels) is that your health regenerates super slow. So you can either stand like a mofo lose 1/2 health to trash mob. And than have to chug expensive potion. Or sit on your ass for 10 minutes until your health regenerates.
or you play like a pro. Never even get hit , and continue grinding those mobs forever.
There is insane ammount of skill, combos, positioning, timing.
You can even solo elite opponents , alone - if you are very skillful.
So please. Dont judge the game by some newbs playing twitch based game and thinking its SWTOR

I agree with what you said above lobotomist, this guy has two 58 warriors and still has trouble solo'ing many BAMs and has to practice them before making a video.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CaFNZOaS6dQ He has multiple dodges which he uses for correct circumstances, plus when enraged these monsters get even faster, 1080p to see what the game should look like, not like the NA version lol. He also has crystals for crit bonuses from behind, so you try to get behind it, positioning matters.

Listen to Lobotomist mate he knows what he is talking about... But if your experince is western theamparks.. You might not make it in a game like this... sad but true..
if you played only to lvl 10 then you really should play longer you haven't even touched how Awesome TERA is.
....
This has nothing to do with Tera, but why must there be games that I must play "longer" before I "touch how awesome it is"? Does "first impressions" mean nothing to the developers of these games? Especially if the game will have subscriptions, shouldn't it feel "Awesome" right off the bat?
Well what do you think a first time MMORPG player thinks when he gets into the game and there is a lot of stuff to do and everything is hard? Obviously a game like this needs to be designed with new players in mind and already many people complained about how hard the combat system is even though they are still low level, imagine how hard they will consider it with BAMs where one misstake can kill you.
I mean you can reach 25+ in a day of playing much so most likely the first 10 or 20 levels are meant to be considered as a tutorial in a way.
I doubt a first time MMMORPG player can reach 25+ levels in a day (if ever they DO play for a whole day). Also, aweing the player does not immediately equate to bombarding him with complexities. Tutorial levels can still feel awesome. It all depends on the game design.
For example, if I'm wading through the same things and performing the same actions at level 9 as I have been at level 2, with no new information, I would be bored too. Especially if the time it takes to gain a level is not negligible.
Man feels like im repeating this in every thread i read... there is glyphs on higher level to make you able of casting certain skills/spells while moving.
This should not be linked to Glyphs. If it's technically possible to eliminate sticking while casting instants, then the skills should be that way from the start. It's the one flaw that kills the feeling of freedom of movement in this "action" style of combat. Having it be linked to Glyphs means that a.) Many people will be turned off to the game before they ever reach a point where they get such a glyph and b.) It will become a required Glyph for most people, which just limits viable variation in a game that already is severely limited in build customization.
I turned off the game after 1 hour due to stop to cast an instant bs. It doesn't feel like action at all. It feels like they want you to tank eveything, even as a caster, with this stop start stuff.
The combat may feel acceptable to some people but those of us that have played much better action style combat games (Dragon Nest) are going to have a very difficult time leveling to max to get a stupid glyph.

Ok. You may be able to kite mobs with the stop to cast instants stuff, but how much fun is that really. People that are used to smooth fluid combat are not gonna put up with this. I can't believe that thought it would be a good idea to just throw in a glyph near endgame for such a critical issue.

I like the system, makes it a bit more challenging plus doesn't allow PvP to be too imbalanced.
Self stuns are there for a reason, balancing the way fights being conducted in Tera.
If you can't get used to it it's your fault, it's like playing FPS games while your hand is all quavery -.-, so DON'T play FPS, and if you decide to continue then enjoy and be quiet.
sounds like ur gpu sucks. i didnt lag at all and i was on eyefinity. no framerate drops ever. in fact this game is optimized incredibly well. As to your omg i cant run and spam instant cast stuff. Boohoo. Seriously. Boohoo. Its a strategic game. Go play WoW if you want whack a mole combat. or you thought hey i can just run away from peeps as a range and lol at any melee. Sry kid you have to learn to be strategic also. I hear swtor is looking for noobs.

People should really stop caring about graphics being "outdated". Unappealing, ok, but "outdated" ... Come on, technicity is not the right way to judge an art.
If a visual does work design wise, and if it's at least pleasant to the eye, who the hell does ducking care about it being the latest iteration of an MIT graphical engineer ? xD

Dear Bluehole Studios, We appreciate the fact that although you gave ranged classes powerful attacks at range you make them stand still to do it most of the time. Our community thus far has had to rely on additional abilities given by developers to compete and engage in a cooldown war instead using our own reflexes and positioning.
If you want to compare DragonNest or Vindictus to TERA it's important to ask how many skills you are having to keep track of in each game.
In looking at the UI for all three at hight level both DN and Vin have 6-10? TERA seems to have slightly less than Aion and for a free aim game that's quite the management when factoring in movement and positioning. I finally have a legitimate reason to get a Naga.

Doesn't take much for the OP to be disappointed!
High rez textures and stuff weren't in CB1 yet.

I think your expectations are too high. I think TERA looks better than any MMORPG short of maybe AoC.

To fix the FPS issue, go to the S1game folder.
Config> S1engine > change bsmoothframe to FALSE and go to file properties and set it to READ ONLY.
The file won't be changed by the patcher and your FPS no longer becomes limited.
I had fun during NA CBT1, especially when I got to 22 and started soloing the Basilisk.
