Why "I" am going to play SWTOR

Just because they are the first western MMO that is going to have regional servers for SEA. I dont care if the game is craptastic,  but it's good to see a company try to cater to regions other than NA and EU. I mean there are atleast 200000 WOW players in SEA that play on NA servers but still Blizzard doesnt want to provide regional servers to us, so kudos to EA/Bioware for making this move. I am 100% sure there will be many people who will buy the game in SEA, I mean there are already tons of SEA players on the US servers so I think it will sell quite well once it releases in SEA. I hope future game developers will learn from this and release their games in SEA which IMO is a growing games industry and it will continue to grow.

I hear you.   When I played Eve Online I played with an AUS/NZ corporation.   At that time of my life I had an odd schedule and the EURO and NA prime-times didn't work, for me, so well.

A lot of my AUS/NZ corpmates expressed the same issue...   And with Eve's one-giant-server-model-universe, they could hook up with people on their schedule far easier.   It's why a lot of them played Eve, beyond the obvious reasons that Eve is a fun game if you like PvP, and they continued to like the game...

if thats all it takes to get someone to play an MMO in your area, I will be sure to make an MMO and set it up for you.  it wont be any good, but you obviously dont care about that minor detail.

i have no clue where all the game is tanking folks get there info. Last i saw numbers the game had over 1.7 mil subs. So if thats tanking im sure alot of games would take it.

i have had alot of fun in tor, but if u dont like themepark games u might not like tor , the truth is tor has more subs so far then a sandbox game will have in its  lifetime,

Trash the game all u like with lies and false stats but from what ive seen playing tor its a thriving game,

Lies? The game has so many short comings, issues and bugs  that it went from "this sort of funny to this isn't funny, to all the way back to this is sort of sadly funny". It is like Bioware read a flow chart on what not to do in mmo-rpg game design and then promptly went and did it. I think this mmorpg.com link sums it up well.

Heh, you guys are getting pretty desperate trying to "prove" SWTOR is a failure - you even have charts and graphs now.

Hey, I play the game and I'd love to see it improved. But with mindsets like yours it won't be. The chart is a great example of some of the major short comings of SWTOR.  Desperate? Desperate to not see the game not be a failure, that is about it.

Stfu Aussies! If you spoke a bit of japanese or korean your ping to play some of the coolest mmorpgs properly supported is mind bogglingly fantastical.

Also why would you want to spend more than 2 hours inside in a dark room playing a computer game in australia, its one of the best places in the world to go outside and do stuffz!

Maybe SWTOR will be the new SEA game?? because nobody will be playing it in a Year in the US and Europe... Man you will be the laughing stock at your school and at work if you admit to playing this trash game...

The Tortanic sank in the West maybe it will resurface in the EAST? all in all good luck with playing this...

While your critisism of the game may be justified and possibly true, anyone worried about a game getting them laughed at at school needs counselling and a sense of perspective.

People do worry that is why the game is tanking.. Its human nature I dident make it that way. And could personaly care less what people think. But the Joey Casual crowed that BIOWARE is trying to get to play this game "DO CARE". Many  kidds these days fall to peer persure. Its no diffrent when it comes to games.. If people say OMG that game is lame.. People will not play it. And many adults are the same "drones" they think life is about how much stuff they can get before they die...

People are stupid, they dont have a will of their own, they listen to what others say... Those that can think for themselves a few and a far betwen.. True story bro..

You typed all that out like you want us to believe you have alot of wisdom. Truth of the matter is, you don't. All of your 'life lessons' are very generic and were likely picked up watching Glee or Twilight. Live a little and get back at us...bro. And by the way, I don't like SWTOR, but if you're succumbing to peer pressure based off what game you like (LOL), you need to get out more. Try getting laid, it's worked for thousands of years.

I play the game as well and yes it does have problems but when people start saying it's not an MMO they're just being ridiculous. Do you have the option to solo to 50, yes. Do most other recent MMOs have that option yes. Do you have the option to group with people while doing this same content - why yes you do. Is there specific areas that require a group - check that as well. Do they have raids and instances - yep those too. PvP instances - yep. Open world pvp - kind of.

What TOR is missing is some of the newer functionality we see in MMOs and some of it is apparently on its way. The game will be improved upon but if people think it's going to fundamentally change, it's not going to. I hope to see more bug fixes, more content, crafting changes to make it useful at endgame, Ilum turned into a cross-server instanced area with a balanced and limited population per instance to help even out the factions, combat logs, and more.

Tthe thread that was linked to is being factually honest. If people want to call out TOR for it's problems, that's perfectly fine. I'll even chime in with my opinions but trying to state it's not an MMO is just mind boggling.

I'm playing both WoW and TOR. They're both good games and I have different friends playing them. I'm still confused on what SEA is though, ,LOL.  I'm guessing it's NZ/Australia but I could be wrong.

Actually small skirmishes in EvE do require tactics and skill, but you probably have not played the game past the free trial.

Back on topic, good luck with TOR, it is an awesome single player game to 50, then it just dies a horrible death.

"Hardcore circles" are a laughing stock in the rest of humanity, but that doesn't stop people joining and enjoying them.

Point is, people are going to play what they want to play and do what they want to do regardless of what anyone else thinks.

    And its a good thing.

Honestly I just started playing because D3 was delayed, and i must say, this is the first mmorpg in like the last 8 games I've played that i thoroughly enjoy and like logging back in. People are looking for heroin in their games, need a reality check.
