Hackers have struck Mortal Online banning MANY accounts. The total damage so far is unknown. Change your passwords!

Appearently with the increased population Mortal Online has attracted some neerdowells. It could take a few days to restore some players accounts.
Never trust a screenshot or a youtube video without a version stamp!

I heard it was AQ member who hacked A GM account after AQ lost their keep. I GOT MY ACCOUNT BANNED because of him ;(
or more likely it's just a story SV invented so as not to lose face now that they have decided to un-ban accounts.

Same thing happened to me. I guess the hackers went and banned a ton of random accounts. From what I hear at least 50 accounts were effected and maybe more. Also 2 other keeps were destroyed along with some other assets. This is pretty big news.

Exactly, I find it really hard to beleve that a GM account could be hacked that easily, thoses things must be restricted by whitelisted IP, the hacker wouldn't have known the GM commands anyway to cause so much havok on such a short period of time, the disgruntled GM theory seems far more realist.
Shouldn't SV be giving that password advice to the GM's not the players seen as it was a GM's account that was breached.
Spin and more spin. Is it not more probable that a disgruntled GM or a GM with ties to a major guild did this and not some random new player? BTW, good job by using a negative to try to plug MO's population as increasing...

Anyways if someone really thinks that a person hacked a GM account and was able to figure out all the tools to do all the damage they did and have never been on a gm account before..... Well I have a bridge to sell you.

I don't play this game but I do read about it for the drama... I thought GMs were in guilds as players in it?
Why is anyone even using the word 'hack'? Isn't it just really likely that it was the GM who owned the account did it or that he gave his account details to a guildie and SV just don't want to say that because of the damage it will do to the already bad rep of their GMs?
Like I say, I'm not an expert or anything, just curious.

This is exactly what it is. Username and StarVault are in full damage control mode. Because supposedly GMS were not in guilds just like councerlors are not supposed to be. BULLSHIT.
We all know what the truth is. And until the volunteer staff is disolved and a paid staff is put in this will happen time and again.
I honestly think the fault is with discord as the lead gm , its his responsibility to keep his people in check and he clearly cannot do it and his lack of intelligence is making people quit this game.
Henrik needs to get rid of him and put someone like Theia in charge hes the only gm who knows anything about how mortal online works and he can remain unbiased.
Just take last night as an example, discord started banning everyone with an AQ tag in IRC cause he thinks they are responsible wich is not how you handle situations like this just cause he thinks and is getting trolled he believes certain people are behind it and he draws everyone down the sink.
I agree. And they need to do something quick. It is a shame because while some of the fans do a good job of talking the game up, crap like this just undoes all their work and brings the game down further...

SV lie, abuse power, lie some more, can't fix bugs, lies about the lies, promises improvement, and damage control with lies when people find out it's never gonna happen.

Anonymous has targetted SV since the number of subscribers JUMPED from 150 to 175!!
Hackers and neerdowells reaping profits that the few dozen subs are bringing in while killing players without giving them a chance to revive again in MO-ever. This is BIG news people, do not sell your SV stock-ever, because population is BOOMING (not counting trial accounts but doesnt mean that 9 out of 10 people wont sub the very next second)!

Lol its just some aq idiot who got the account info of the lead gm's account and destroyed the keeps of the guilds that took aq down, banning mostly all of the members from the guilds that took aq down. Biggest butthurt and nerdrage in the history of gaming. ''No dickheads,no bullshit,no hacks'' seems AQ broke all three of their rules.

Don't all games have gm commands? I have played Lineage 2 on private servers myself being a GM and they have similiar commands. The problem here is the fking retarded GM's handing out their account info to their little friends, and also gm's playing the game inside guilds like AQ.
The security issues are incompetent GMs...Discord should be fired if he did indeed give a player his account information.
As for the person who took advantage of this (I was tempted to lable them AQ but many of the AQ guys are cool, so I don't want to include them) its just pathetic...he punished all the players and ruined a night of gaming. It makes me sad that people do stuff like this and that they get away with it.
Well yeah, sure but the commands will inevitably be different in each game. I'm sure you may be able to figure it out eventually but theres no way you're just going to log in and know which commands to use. I don't know of any private servers either, let alone ones with GM powers.

The person using Discord's account knew what he was doing. He did not get on and fumble for different commands, he has been on a gm account before. I can see Discord being dumb enough to give someone his information.
you are wrong he hasnt been a gm account before. sv lost 54 subs when most of aq quit in protest. Im suprised the video was actually well put together and the music choice wasnt bad

Its funny that the video was uploaded on vimeo. Are not alot of aq members uploading videos on vimeo?
Also another thing, A GM said it wasn't one person but a group of people who co-ordinated this together in a guild which most of them had been dealt with.
and you believe the gms? after all this? trust me it was not the work of aq guild and i certainly had nothing to do with it or would support such actions and likely the work of an individual.
But im not going to comment on this issue anymore, it happened its in the past. I hope SV will learn from it and MO will recover from it and i might comeback for awakening as might other familiar faces. But i have always been a fan of MO and still am. Its jsut obvious that the tools the gms are using arent effective and the gm positions themselves need re-evaluating. Real damage could seriously of been done here with a more passive approach that oculd of spanned months. So in a way its a good thing it was given to this person instead of someone else who would of slowly destroyed the game until nothing was left.
